  1. Daeron - I think they look way better than the old block and 30 year old fuse wires, Here's what I'm talking about
  2. I was about to go mad after testing my battery and alternator at least twice a piece and they both turn up good, yet my battery would always be dead when i went to my car. Who knew it was those crap-tastic Fusible links?? It was so quick to do, very much worth it, I recommend anyone who is using the stock harness to do it. [Mine look even more out of place than yours haha]
  3. Looking back I wish I hadn't cut the muffler off and put the Ansa style 'resonator' on the back. It's 6-2-1 headers on 2.5" pipe, no cat or muffler. I've got 1 ticket and 3 warnings because of this setup, and it is aweful on the interstate with the stock 5 Speed. I've never been pulled over while driving my stock V6 Accord. It's not pleasant at all and I can't hear the radio. If I could go back and do it again I would find a muffler or something to put in front of the pipes.
  4. Haha that's the truth. They're never fast enough either, are they? Well good job anyways, My suspension is done for the most part, hopefully have the turbo installed and the car painted by the end of summer. I just wish I had more time.
  5. You need to make sure you are spelling things correctly before you search. It's bearings, not berrings. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131138&highlight=wheel+bearings+rear Good luck with the install, you will need a couple of special tools and owning a FSM [Factory Service Manual] would really benefit you at this point.
  6. The 240 looks really good... How long ago was the resto
  7. I wonder if that would look good with the Pantera hatch
  8. We were having some 'fun' with a parts car and we hit the dented in roof with a hammer from the inside and it looks as if nothing happened... Ice sucks look here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=144229
  9. I had to space out my 15x8 Rota RBs and had to replace the studs. The 225/50s were rubbing on the spring perch. It doesn't take long but it is definitely necessary.
  10. An FSM's wiring diagram would help out alot right now, you could narrow it down more quickly.
  11. Did the new motor run on the current harness and then stop running, or has it never fired up in this car?
  12. I'd agree - it looks great but has been 'tainted' in terms of it being a collectible. That hatch is only on the early cars and you might be able to get some money for that if you are going to make this a track car or something like that.
  13. It could be the temp sensor like stated above, I'd also make sure you hooked the wires back up in the proper order. 153624 CCW from the first plug to the left of the clamp that is nearest you. The motor would most likely run if it had a bad head gasket...
  14. About the hatch - Parts cars are plentiful and I'm sure you can get a hold of a better hatch for cheap if that one is really bad. [my car came with another hatch] About the motor - There's no telling without messing around with the car, and that's assuming the car actually did run 'perfectly' [good compression, carbs are good, etc] before it was parked.
  15. Yeah those are good places to judge the overall condition of the car most times, but always check the frame rails. My battery tray and hatch had rust but the frame rails are solid on my car, and like skib said, it was good because it came with alot of parts. That's rust, sorry buddy [Notice the black streak underneath the spot, and that's the most common place that hatches rust, in the bottom corner] Whatever Z you get you're going to have to deal with rust to some extent, it just depends on how much you are willing to spend initially to not worry about it.
  16. If that is the original paint that 'might' be a good car, but I still think over 1500 for a non running Z is alot, of course I'm not used to West Coast prices. There is a big rust spot on the hatch and looks like a little on the roof. Did he get pictures of the spare tire well or battery tray?
  17. If I may... After spending a day in the cold trying to make a brand new broken timing light work, I decided to go back out to the shop on Sunday to deal with my 'timing issues.' After another trip back to the store to get a replacement for the bad timing light that was sold to me, I tried to set the timing. The timing mark was going crazy, so i popped the dizzy off to find about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of vertical play in the dizzy rotor. I got into the parts bin and got another dizzy, and installed it. While trying to crank the car over to see if the new dizzy would fix things, my gear reduction starter off of my '80 motor crapped out on me. Unfortunately this was Sunday and drinking copious amount of beer to compensate for my stress levels was not a viable option. We must really love our cars to go through all this. Ok, I'm done, back on topic. Yes, fixing brakes sucks hardcore.
  18. I think it would look good body color, Like was mentioned before it looks good on the Mustangs. People need to see the DATSUN in big letters in front of them
  19. It seems to me that the Corvette or Viper would hold value more than a modified Datsun. I know that this isn't the point with most of us but my car probably is worth less than half of what I have put into it, where the Vettes and other Higher end sports cars keep their value. I've always been a big Corvette fan and loved driving the C6 so I'm a little biased
  20. MJ get rid of that Mac, maybe that will clear the issue up
  21. cool - I will check it out. The car ran today - without the TPS. Still kind of confused, it runs but has a lot less power. I got a timing light today, but it was snowing here and I called it a day early.
  22. I didn't go out to the shop last night, but I will be there when I get out of class today. Does anyone else have some suggestions?
