  1. Very nice! I used a Quiet Flow for my green Z and it's nice and quiet . All I hear are the carbies sucking in air.
  2. Nicely done, Ed. I, for one, would buy a drop-in and completely tunable distributor in a heartbeat if it were available.
  3. Thanks Takashi! Still using 40s (L24) but finally bought new air horns and filters. Thanks Steve, you got that right, especially with a new job and holiday stuff going on...
  4. Progress has been slow, just waiting for me to weld up exhaust leaks and mount up the pipes...
  5. Yes, my salvaged Z is insured for full coverage and agreed value, no different from a clean titled car.
  6. It sounds like the car is in good shape, although it's hard to go on just words without detailed photos. Many people are afraid of salvaged cars but I don't have an issue as long as the frame wasn't damaged. One of my Zs was salvaged and repaired. I originally paid $2500 for the running car but it needed A LOT of work. I bought it because it was rust-free and a good platform to build on. Its alignment numbers look better than some collision-free Zs. $6500 wouldn't even tempt me to sell my salvaged Z, unless I stripped it of a bunch of parts.
  7. Thanks. Would that be the Aluminum Jag caliper on there?
  8. Any ideas as to whether either caliper fits inside 16" wheels?
  9. FWIW, I made sure all rockers used in my engine build were parallel and the engine was nice and quiet from the get-go. It has a bit over 1000 miles on it now.
  10. 6 of 12 of my reground Delta rockers were not ground parallel. What I doubt is that many people actually take the time to check them.
  11. Some serious engineering going on here! Loving it.
  12. I'd remove the glass, carefully. Cleaning and painting the hatch will be way easier and afterwards you can clean up the stainless trim and install a new gasket.
  13. Good work! I'll have to check out that steering wheel sometime, the purchase is on my radar.
  14. I used EPS Plating in Hayward because they were local. They did a small batch of Aluminum fuel fittings for me that turned out really nice. I think it was something like $70 for the stripping and plating. I did get them polished at the metal finishing shop across the street to get a glossier finish.
  15. Really sorry to hear about the car, but your journey with it has been freakin' awesome! Hope to see it back on the track badder and stronger than ever.
  16. I'm with you on all 3 counts! I'm running triples and Megajolt crank-triggered ignition in a Z, it's one of my favorite upgrades. All said and done, it ran me maybe $500. I know Lazeum on this forum is also running a similar setup. That BHJ damper sounds like an awesome piece.
  17. Damn, that sucks! Sounds like the distributor drive gear spun on its shaft. There are some good threads on pinning it so it doesn't happen again. Or, convert to crank-triggered ignition...
  18. Sweet! Let me know how it turns out.
  19. Steve, tried to PM you but it said you can't accept any new messages. Send me a PM with your email or phone #.
  20. I'm not very familiar with Mikunis but Keith has modeled them up. You can contact him through the group.
