  1. What crank sensor are you using? I tried using the OEM crank sensor with TEC II and it failed miserably with similar symptoms. If you are not using the OEM setup, make sure the air gap is correct for the diameter of the trigger wheel. Since you are having RPM-related issues, that is where I would put the focus. garvice is on the right track but I would go one step further and have someone put a scope on the crank sensor circuit.
  2. AMEN! Spraying nitrous on your I/C between runs is a waste of time and money. 1 second after you put boost to the engine, the benefit gained in the pits is gone. Set it up for a 50-shot and go 1 jet richer on the fuel side to be safe.
  3. ....or did I do something get on the admins bad side? Says I do not have sufficient privilige to do a reply.
  4. Did you check the trunk lid for the VTEC emblem?
  5. A stock GTE was rated at 320hp despite that horrible "twin turbo" setup. A single turbo with a decent DP and exhaust and like Mike said, you would have to pull a couple of spark plug wires off to keep it under 350hp.
  6. Abortion? What's your point? It's a tube chassis drag car that you add your choice of drivetrain and body panels. No different than say a Winston Cup car . That happens to be Europe where sedan race cars are the most popular. Ever notice all the big-time production car racing in Europe is for sedans?
  7. Awright guys, before this gets out of hand, it was put up as a joke . Anyone who has been in my garage in the last 5+yrs, has probably been offered that empty can as a seat Everytime I go to throw it out I find some use for it. The welder is a Lincoln 180 (220V) and I have not built a welding station yet.
  8. None. I would say you had bad seals in the turbo(s).
  9. I bought the 180 and it is an awesome machine! Do some more serious shopping. I bought mine from an ebay seller for $500 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/Lincoln-Electric-WeldPak-175HD-Feeder-Welder-New-sealed_W0QQitemZ320406560846QQcmdZViewItemQQptZBI_Welders?hash=item4a99b8204e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  10. Hope all is well with you and the family.
  11. This is definitely true. I had my truck pan modified for my 98 Sonoma LM4 swap and it was done by an excellent welder who had done it before. Mine "weeps" but never forms into drips and I have no concerns about it.
  12. You can't go. The tire chains are gonna rip off your ZGs
  13. Assuming you have at least 3.0L and want max performance, I would. However, it depends on how the car will be used. If it will be quick stoplight bursts, the stick with the .70. If there is any chance the car will be able to stretch its legs, then go for the .81.
  14. Just got back from a couple of days at the MGM. All I can see is WOW! The size of that hotel is overwhelming, e.g., 5500 rooms! Don't know what you are into, but check out the lobby of the Luxor and the interior of the Venetian. Caught the Cirque d' Soleil (sp?) show at the Bellagio. Very expensive but the theater itself was almost worth the price of admission. If you have never seen the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, definitely worth it. For me, seeing Vegas was one of those things I can now check off and say "been there, done that". Too crowded and the peddlers hawking shows and prostitutes got annoying. You will see what I mean.
  15. Congrats on the purchases guys. Have owned a '97 M3 coupe for a couple of years now and still smile when I get behind the wheel. The 3.2L has just that much more low-end torque to make it a nice around-town driver. I live religously by the vacuum/mpg gauge and average about 27mpg all-around. Would be even nicer if it had 1 more gear.
  16. Thanks, I have been here ever since. I am doing the LS1,4l60e. This is a great site. I just wanted to say hi and to thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

  17. Scottie, just wanted to say hi. I came to the hybrid site because of you a couple of years ago when you did the write up on your build with the corvette lsd. I sent you a message and you pointed me to this site. Thanks Man.

  18. Why are you concerned about a "kit"? A GSL392, as you will use it, will probably draw 12-14 amps, so a good quality generic 30/40A relay will get the job done. Along with that: - Get some blade connectors and 10g wire - Run 10g from your power source to the relay 30. The power source should one that supply 13+V - Run 10g from the relay 87 to the pump + - Run 10g from the pump - to a solid ground - Connect the original fuel pump + wire to the relay coil (85 or 86) - Connect the other side of the relay coil to a solid ground. You don't need a kit and doing it this way will not cost a lot but this is not a place to scrimp.
  19. I thought for a moment that was the famous "SW" Supra but that was at Reynolds. That is quite "normal" for high-hp Supras with the 6-spd and IRS, with many pulling the front wheels. Here is a video of SW's Supra, IMO, one of the most amazing street cars in existence. Keep in mind when you watch this that he is running the stock factory 6-spd and IRS with a TRD diff. And, the car recently ran 246+ mph in the standing-mile!! Think about that for a second.
  20. Give him a break. That was his first post and he replied to a 5 yr-old post so that means he was doing some searching.
  21. How about 4% between the ages of 12-17 :D
