  1. Congrats for getting out there and having some fun. Now that the butterflies have settled you made 2 mistakes: thinking you could maximize the car's potential 1st time out and trying to run with small street tires. On the positive side, if you target 1.80 for your 60', the car has 13.2 potential. Factor in the altitude and getting quicker with more seat time and I would say you probably have a mid-12 car at sea-level.

  3. I am in the Road Atlanta area and there does not appear to be much of an issue.
  4. Have the same concerns about the Atlanta area. Going up this week for Petit LeMans.
  5. Dont know. The color was like a dark gunmetal, almost black, and it had some type of temp tag and appeared to come from Baird-Ray Nissan. Rumor in the pits was that he paid >100K for it. Not sure I would be proud to tell someone I paid >100K for a $77K car but that's the price for playing oneupmanship, I guess. Heard he was loaded and was talking about bringing his Murcielago next week. I counted 5 335is, an E55 AMG, a new Carrera Cabrio and 2 late-model Porsche turbo and a supposed 1200hp turbo Viper trying to run on street tires and low boost. The face of drag racing is changing.

I am in the same situation being forced to upgrade to a full cage or slow the car down While I dont drive on the street a lot anymore, it is a concern especially since I get lax sometimes and just use the 5-pt lap belt only on the street. I would think the padding on the halo would help some but also sure my helmet will be touching the halo even w/o the padding.
  7. WHOA! Let me correct what I said so there is no belief that I think it is a POS. "Does not matter if the g-tech HP readout is high or low or people think the g-tech is a POS." Hope that clears it up.
  8. Saw my first GTR at the drag strip tonight and the owner was running it and running it hard. It LOOKS big and heavy. I imagine with a half-tank of gas and driver, it is over 4000lbs! Ironic that this car is over 500lbs heavier than a ZR1. Anyway, the performance hype is not hype. Owner had trouble figuring out how to launch it and finally get some decent digs and a best of 11.7 @ 119.
  9. Have not spoken to James in a while, but I am sure his career (not selling turbo systems ) and family has him pre-occupied.
  10. Does not matter if the g-tech HP readout is high or low or the g-tech is a POS. The only thing that HP readout should be used for is to compare test runs in YOUR car under the SAME conditions. End of story!

  15. Locked up my laptop (XP/IE7) forcing a manual power-off. Think you guys sticking it out are making a mistake, but I also understand your concerns. Wish you all the best.

  17. Ouch! Wheelies look nice but sometimes when you come down, the car's directon is unpredicatable.
  18. Read in the paper that the track was closed until 9/5, but guess they were referring to the circle track.
