I'd say it's worth your while to talk to the guy that pick the car up to take it to be crushed. I don't really see a reasonable truck driver that wouldn't be willing to look the other way while you pay him to take a stop and eat lunch Heck, even getting the 2400 valve cover would be a nice score!

Volvo s60R (not your ordinary volvo ) It has plenty of room, is decently quick (300hp 2.5 I5 running 15lbs of boost from the factory), handles well, AWD, huge brembo's for some bling, great interior, etc, etc. I might be a bit biased on that one though. The only thing that doesn't meet your criteria would be the mileage ratings. I don't know what they are from the factory, but I get about 17 city and 26 freeway cruising between 75 and 80. If you drop it down to 60 the mileage shoots up to ~33. I'd also look into a used 3 series. So an e36 is a bit old for your tastes, but I didn't realize your budget was quite this size. There's plenty to be seen for used luxury Euro cars in the $20k range.

Remember, you can always do a charge back through your credit-card company if things turn for the worst.

I'd do some more research if I were you It's definitely doable to have a low boost threshold with a good sized single turbo. How much boost are you planning on running and when do you realistically want to have it all in by? Going with a single turbo set-up saves a lot of money on the cost of the turbos and allows you to spend that cash elsewhere in your budget and make more power for the same cost.

I don't have anything to back my claim up, but my gut tells me that they're lacking some reinforcement. I'm planning on offering strut bars this summer along with a few other suspension components once I get quotes back from my machine shop, so I PM'd you with an idea.

I'll elaborate in an edit later this afternoon, as I just got out of class. Hope this helps! edit: 8. Do you regret that you didn’t take your high school classwork more seriously? I took all of my highschool coursework seriously and got fairly decent grades (3.75 unweighted, 4.75 weighted) to show for my efforts. I feel that when the going got rough assignments and projects became a team effort between all of the IB students and we got things done. I learned just as much about people through my homework as I did about the subject being learned. As for taking my IB tests more seriously, I felt that I had a good grip on all of the material we had learned, and was doing well on all of the practice tests, so I didn't put a ton of effort into studying. However, when test time came I found out that there was a significant amount of material from my earlier years that I didn't recall how to do perfectly. As a result I missed my IB diploma by 2 points. If I would have earned it I would have been able to transfer 32 credits to my university rather than the 8 I did. Where I'm going that translates to almost a year in tuition, housing, and other costs I missed out on because I took a few nights of test-prep off.

I'd peel up all of the sound deadening and get an idea if your floors really need replacing. It looks like you might be able to repair rather than cut everything out and start over, but then again, we can't see the whole story.

Thanks for the input Dave I checked out some of the reviews on fredmiranda and it looks like a lot of good info! Another option is this Nikkor 55-200mm, which is in the same price range. I've shot it before, and was fine with the image quality, but the lens felt a bit on the cheap side with it's lightweight plastic construction. I shot a buddy's 70-300mm (although I can't remember any details on it) and remember liking the available zoom range, but as of now I'm open to any telephoto in the $150-$175 ballpark. My wide angle is in need of a repair so it seems like a great time to pick something else to fill it's spot in the camera bag in its absence.

Hey guys, I've been watching this thread for a long time, and have been really impressed with the stuff posted up! I'm still learning a lot of the post-production stuff, so I don't have a ton to share, but I was hoping for an opinion here. I'm looking at picking up a relatively inexpensive telephoto for my D60 and have been looking at these two. This Sigma 70-300mm and this Tamron 70-300mm. Any input on either of them, or a suggestion of something else? I've read a few reviews on them, and they both seem like a good buy for the price, but I was wondering what you guys would pick given the option

I have one at home that I ended up having to take to the machine shop to have removed after much beating, and soaking in various lubricants and penetrating oils. I was told it would only take a few minutes, so I decided to wait while I had a chance to cut in that good ole machine shop line, only to have my rear hub returned to me 3 minutes later and the machinist telling me to look for a shop with a press capable of more than 20 tons of force

I happened to do this two summers ago with my Z. I cut a good roof out of my parts car and went from there. Trimmed it to fit and tacked it into place. and stitched it in (weld it solid, you can deal with the minor warping later when you do the filler work).
