  1. That green is a little gaudy in my opinion (great for transformers, not so much for Dattos). I think a lighter green like the new ford fiesta green would be just as attention grabbing and much more suited to the Z's lines. All your other plans sound like they should thoroughly modernize the car's look, which sounds good to me!
  2. Doing good, glad to see you making progress on the Z again! I've looked on eBay and seen adapters for both turbos (cheap, and with a wastegate provision) to mate to a T3 flange, so either should be doable.
  3. I'm able to pick up either a Toyota CT26 (off a MKIII Supra or MR2, not sure) or a DSM TD05HR (off EVO 8). I figure the EVO turbo would be the better of the two, considering its much newer... Not sure its big enough though, and what would be involved making it work with the stock manifold. Anybody that can chime in with advise on which I should get (or if I should pass them up completely!) would be greatly appreciated! Looking to get around 250-300 HP, at around 10-15 psi. Basic Specs so far: N42 block P90 head (will be getting mild port/polish) "B" Cam 280zx Turbo manifold N42 Intake (shaved, mild port) Stock dished pistons Supra Injectors w/ Cockerstar fuel rail Megasquirt EFI 1st Gen RX7 Oil Cooler W/ 280ZXT Auto filter adapter Individual coil packs (Combo X64v's EDIS-less wasted spark, and 1 fast Z's individual coil bracket) Car will be occasionally tracked, and used for a weekend cruiser.
  4. Do it and post up pictures! I would love to have the frit painted on mine to allow for a modern windshield mounted rear view mirror.
  5. Thanks for asking Ryan! Were all fine, the civic was my brother in laws, he walked away without a bruise or scratch and it was already payed off. Aside from shaken nerves, and of course the loss of the car itself, he's fine. I've brought up the idea of parting it out, but I don't really have the time, and nobody else is mechanically inclined enough to do it. I figure while its there I might as well salvage something for the Z if I can.
  6. JHM, guess I should have given some background on my Z with my question. It's got Z32 seats, 240sx rear caliper conversion, and will be getting 4 points for the belts. I'm thinking the coolant switch for the radiator fan might be set up for a two speed fan, which would work for the Taurus fan. Not sure however. Anybody know if the Digital speedo is able to work independently of the ecu?
  7. I've got access to a wrecked 2010 Civic Sedan (Not Si model). Anybody have any suggestions of things I should pull off for the Z before the insurance co. comes and takes it away? Front end is pretty smashed up...
  8. I've got this one I won't be using: Not sure what brand it is, no markings or anything. How's $50 + shipping sound?
  9. I've got a coil pack (chrysler spark plug boot style) and EDIS module. How's $20 + shipping sound? I might have a VR sensor, but it's different from the one Derek's kit uses, let me know if your interested and I can send pictures.
  10. I've been planning something similar for a while... Glad to see someone do it successfully, definitely will be scouring the yards to do something similar. THIS is what I was planning on doing to take care of the "dead" space around the fans. Should be pretty simple, and you might be able to just tape up the inside (mechanical/important bits) and wrap your whole fan/support bracket as 1 piece. Do a good enough job, throw on some satin black paint and it just might look OEM.
  11. The smooth one is the euro bumper. Zedd Findings might have them in stock, but your going to pay for shipping and customs from Canada. I also recall reading that Nissan Motorsports had the euro bumpers in stock, but this was some time ago... If you don't mind fiberglass, you can get those in the US. Might as well just JB weld/Bondo/paint your existing bumper if that's the case...
  12. Don't be discouraged from using your stock dash, just take the extra time and prepwork to get it straight before you start glassing. Getting that top curve/ridge that circles around the gauges smooth is by far the hardest part, but with patience and some ingenuity you should be able to get it. If nothing else, it would be nice to have the practice for when you find a better dash.
  13. Not sure what method your going to use to repair it, but I used wires to "stitch my dash together... Maybe wires and the usual bumper repair stuff would work? This dash was really bad (obviously), and I was only planning on using it to practice on, but after removing most of the vinyl, wiring it back together (the cracks almost went completly across the dash, and the edges had even curled up and needed something to hold them down), filling with foam and overlaying with fiberglass I think it might look great despite everything... I even have a place lined up to flock it once I'm done with it to give it the race car look!
  14. Just read through the last half of this thread, mostly focusing on the dashboard. I am currently doing the exact same process with my dash, so I know what your dealing with. Anyway, the just want to throw out an idea for you, since you said you would like the suede look, but can't afford it. Have you considered having your dash flocked? It gives the suede look/texture, is durable, and much cheaper than doing a suede wrap. Give it a month and I should have some pictures of my dash done in black flocking with the AC and glovebox deleted. Should give you a good idea of how it would look...
  15. Nice, that was exactly my thinking with my 620... Let's pull one Datsun with the other one! Anti-lock brakes? No. Stability/traction control? No. Air bags? No. Questionable frayed/rotten lap belts? Check! Yeah, it should be good to tow a loaded trailer that outweighs it.
  16. Not sure if its delrin, but 1 tuff z has some steering couplers made of some sort of plastic. Only $5 or something like that too? Might check that out...
  17. Might want to give the specifics of your flywheel as well. How hard was the gearbox swap if you don't mind me asking? I'm planning the same set up (Turbo w/ N42 Block, 240sx gearbox).
  18. 17 year old dumb enough to hit a tree dead on..? Yeah that sounds right. 17 year old smart enough to commit an insurance scam..? Not likely. Car looks like it was real clean before the accident, plenty of usefull parts waiting to be swapped over to a straight shell. Hope someone finds it and at least save some of it from the crusher!
  19. Got what I was looking for! Please delete thread. Thanks JSM
  20. I passed through Arizona a month or two ago and recall there being one for sale in Bisbee (I pass through to check out Tombstone on my day off ) listed on craigslist. Not sure if it's still listed, but it might be worth checking out?
  21. PM cockerstar, I recently sent him two clean N42s in trade for some custom work. Ask him for a picture of the manifold he shaved for me, he does really good work!
  22. Anybody with an Isky cam, or even a stock B grind able to compare their cam to these pictures? I need to know weither or not to send this thing back...
  23. A complete set of Akebono calipers from an Infiniti G37s with brackets to make them work on my S30.
  24. I recently picked up this camshaft. PO had it advertised as a "C grind", however it was off a turbo motor that Rebello racing may or may not have prepped. When it gets here however I notice B1 etched into the firewall end of the cam... now B cams are apparently the stock turbo cams from P90 equipped automatic cars. A little more research reveals that Rebello uses Isky, and Isky uses the B cam to make this cam, so maybe that's what I have?? Is the "1" a regrind designation? Either way, I don't have any precision measuring tools, so how can I find out what I have? Sorry to ask a newb question, but this is a little more complex than the average "what cam came in my car!?" thread, and there is a sense of urgency when I'm trying to decide weither or not to send it back. Edit: It also came with an oil spray bar... wouldn't a "B" grind from a P90 be internally oiled..? I'm just getting more confused evey time I look at it. Pictures: what is this "C" for? I always was under the impression the end mark was used to ID cams... This is where the PO got the C grind idea I'm betting.
