Can certainly be done. Takes time, creativity and some fab skills. This is the console I created in my '71. You will note it is a 260/280 dash. I used this because the dash opening is more conducive to adding things like a DD radio. I fabricated the opening face place to house the radio, vents, Vintage Air controls and Audi pop out cup holders and switches.

Not Watanabes but 17” Rota RB-Rs. Not sure the Brembo front caliper will fit under anything less than 17”. Mounting bracket will need to be custom based on back spacing and spoke design.

I have a full set of pedals pulled from a ‘76 280Z if I recall correctly.

Nissan Altima coupe. Pulled the entire rear bumper cover, cut the lower section off then narrowed it to fit the lines of the Z.

LLave, All I can say in answer to your question is maybe? Yes the OE compressor is variable. Some say they use it without issue. Others suggest wiring it to be fixed instead of variable. Full disclosure on my end; the car hasn't gotten far enough for me to test it. I may run into problems and have to change my approach, which would consist of altering the wiring as opposed to changing the compressor. I'm pretty locked into this direction at this point. Luckily living in the great white north I likely won't need it that often. Thanks for the compliment. Clean was one of my primary objectives in the engine bay.

I too am using the Vintage Air Mini II. It fits quite nicely behind the dash. On the motor end I used the OE LS1 compressor (F-body donor). To enable this I had to notch the frame rail and migrate from JCI mounts to Corvette C5 motor mounts (plus my own cross member creation). In order to meet my goal of an extremely clean engine bay all of the plumbing runs through the passenger side fender. Condenser and receiver dryer with trinary are all in front of the core support.

Just noticed your request indicates specifically 79-81. Not certain how the 82-83 varies from what you are looking for.

G-Tech, should you run into issues with your seals let me know. I have the seals from my '83ZXT in good condition, I believe. I am local too (Horseheads, NY - I think we've dealt with one another before).

I have two (L&R) metal portions of the side windows in good condition (guides intact).

I plan to begin dismantling an '89 ZXT this weekend. If you are indeed looking for OEM Z31 parts I will likely have what you need.

Location? I have the tank pulled from my '71.

Happy to report the hood shocks and hinges are holding up well. Unhappy to report the reason for their doing well is the fact they remain on the shelf. Car is still a major project at this point.

I have a set (L & R) in good condition. Honestly not certain what fair market value is. Definitely not the $125 MSA sells their new sets for.

At this point in time I would prefer to not proliferate my concepts. The car is intended to showcase what I consider to be my creativity. Perhaps once it is out there in the public domain for a while I will consider producing items such as the taillights. Thanks for the interest. It endorses what I am doing to some degree.
