  1. Interesting. I have always wanted an R33, best looking skylines in my opinion. I may buy one later down the road. I could save up the money to get one now, but I don't think an 18 year old need to deal with insuring such a car.
  2. I have known about MBS for a while. I purchased a 3" builders kit from them for my car off of their Ebay store. Fast shipping, good product, also got 2 free rolls of brick colored wrapping paper with my order...
  3. Apparently you double post and they delete one that you didn't edit?
  4. Do not use that type of a solid differential mount, your just asking for trouble. I would recommend buying the R/T style mount. (Roostmonkey sells them at a VERY reasonable price and is a fantastic seller.) If you do use it I would recommend really beefing up the front cross-member. Solid mounts are know to rip the metal apart. Your welcome if you don't use it and tear your car up. Save yourself the trouble, I promise you will be more happy with the R/T mount. I will take pictures of my setup if you would like.
  5. There is more than just the "Rear diff seal" There are pinion seals, there are axle seals, and then there is just a rear cover seal. Time may vary depending upon tools and which seals need replacing. Would recommend some dial indicators and a magnet mount to check backlash if the axle or pinion seals must be removed.
  6. I think he is saying his compressor is surging. Similar to Big-Phil's car in his videos. He states at 80mph in the 4k RPM range, which isn't really cruising because at 4k rpms I would expect to be well into boost on a stock 280zxt. To me it sounds like a waste gate issue or something along those lines.
  7. I didn't take the time to read through this so if you haven't got your answer. Why in the hell would you swap in a crappy underpowered 4 cylinder for a moderately powered turbo inline 6? If your going to use a KA24 at least run the DOHC, that is already stock a difference of like 15hp.
  8. Right now on Indianapolis CraigsList there is a full LS1 for 1700. No transmission. There was a built T56 going for I think 1100 here.
  9. They do look super good. I would much rather mount them lower though.
  10. I don't think that the word jealous even covers the feelings I am having.
  11. Just going to be a bit of a tease. Picking this baby up Sunday.... Then some tease of how she is looking.
  12. Where can I get into contact with this cage builder and how much was spent on this cage? I really like it, I would obviously need to have changes made to meet the SCCA rules as I plan to run my car in autocross. If you can PM me what you paid, or a rough area of what you paid and a way to contact this individual that would be awesome. Thanks, Kinser
  13. Speedo and tach are optional. You can always decide after the R200 breaks. Which it probably wont.
  14. If you are to take some time and search either using the search function or through the dedicated technical information forums you would find your answer to all the questions you have asked. All of these are very basic questions and have been answered more than once on this board. Something you will find on this board is we are not big on repeating information over and over again. This board has been around for 10+ years and it has enough information to build from the most mild to an extreme z. Take a few hours and search around, you will learn more than you expect.
  15. Dude, grammar and the shift key are your friend. I am not exactly sure what you said but I have under 5k in my clean S30. I bought a rust free shell for 500 bucks. 5-10K. Yea, don't think so I would rather just buy an SR20 swapped 240sx at that cost.
  16. There are already fine riced out exampled of S30's. The movie wouldn't change much, sticker price on a z is still up there. Kids that have the fast and furious fantasy cannot afford one. Otherwise they end up with a death trap.
  17. Interested in this setup. How did you get the calipers on there? What rotors? I have a stock car outlaw caliper laying around.
  18. That is why I said use some channel. Will this not work as a well enough re-enforcement? I was told by the guy I purchased my seat from that he passed tech in SCCA and NASA with the seat mounted like this. I see your point, bolts alone would not hold on the floor pan. What about using large washers to spread the force on the pan? Or welding in re-enforcement plates across them, such as used to install a cage.
  19. You don't have to be a ****** bag about it. He just said that he saw the damn things in an early magazine article. Serious, go get laid or something Tony.
  20. I was going to buy an 88 4 door long bed Chevy dually with a 454 but the 9800 bucks just wasn't there to back such a purchase. Get a Subaru forester, lower it, attach hitch, have a super sweet towing machine to tow the z to the track. Plus a fantastic winter car.
