I'm running a set of very new (less than 200 miles) chequered Flag stub axles. I was getting my wheels balanced today due to a vibration I assumed to be a wheel balance issue While taking the rear wheels off I noticed that two of my studs were loose, one was so loose I could push it right out and both the stud and the housing are damaged on this one. Anyone else had problems? Do the studs need tack welded in place? I regularly check my nuts for tightness so I haven't been running with loose nuts or anything.

I've always loved the look of the R34 GTR engine plaques, however they say Skyline, this is no good. My Solution: I think it finishes off the engine perfectly.

Some more parts landed from Japan this week: Nismo Super Coppermix Clutch and Flywheel kit, Tomei Fuel Rail and OS Giken CLSD, pretty sure they sent me the wrong LSD though so I'm working on sorting that, yet more hassle. Installed my wiring harness bulkhead connection: Engine is looking good, had the rocker covers painted Kandy Apple Red with a gold Flake Custom Intercooler and Radiator were finished up and arrive with me from Pro Alloy, both were made from blueprint I sent them. Need to modify the diffuser plate to get it to fit, it will be tight though, wanted to use every last bit of surface area possible, just hope I didn't push too big, its about 20mm taller than my blueprints because of the way the sizing worked out 20mm extra meant two extra rows of fins. Can't wait to see those badboys in the bay.

I'm now on holiday for 6 weeks so work has begun again on this. First thing to do, sort out my parts: Crank trigger setup: Fuelab Inline Fuel Filter Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator Turbo water and oil lines Synapse Engineering Synchronic BOV Asnu 700cc Injectors: RB Motorsport R34 Ignition Coils: Custom Rear sump with baffles and trap door, big capacity, should hold around 6.5 litres of oil, thanks to Pat1 Speedhut Gauges: Innovate LC-2 Wideband: Custom Millspec Harness and wiring setup, will be nice if I have to remove the engine anytime, only takes 5 seconds to disconnect the harness at the bulkhead. Tefzel wiring, Raychem DR25 heatshrink, concentric twisting, service loops at bulkhead connector, brand new connectors and looks great. More Parts should be arriving this week. Swap should be starting on the 15th.

Only cheap grade stainless would rust.

Don't mean to be a pain because you are doing me a big favour, but if you are able to upload the photo and measurements that would be great so I can get my prop sorted.
-
Great, that would be awesome. Thanks.

That would be really great. I know McKinney make the shafts but at the moment they are almost impossible to get in touch with and by the time I add in shipping and import costs to it its cheaper to get a custom one built or just shorten the GTS-T prop I was donated for my build. Your help will be greatly appreciated.- 110 replies

Do you know the length of your propshaft or would you be able to find out for me? For a number of reasons I don't want to buy the McKinney prop (not able to get in contact, import duty and tax, shipping, want to use a GTS-T diff flange instead of a 260Z one) This means I need to get a shaft built but in order not hold my build up by waiting to fit the engine to take measurements I need the correct length before I start. Would be a big help if you could as I would be able to get the prop build and have it waiting for me ready for when I'm home in the short time I'll have for my project.

I know Jareds build, it was very very nice, it must have cost a LOT more than $60k to build like that. I'm loving this build just as much as that one though. I don't suppose you would be kind enough to give me the correct length the propshaft needs to be for this swap please? I am also using McKinney mounts. It would be a huge help as I could get my propshaft made before I come home to start the swap, otherwise I will have to fit the engine, measure the correct length and then be delayed while I get my prop sorted. Nobody here using an RB with McKinney mounts?

2JZ swap should be good, good luck, lets hope their reputation for being bullet proof holds true.

Something like that could work if the filter fits. I never had a fuel pump but I know where it would have mounted. I should point out that I'm not a home at the moment so its hard to visualise and check measurements, just going from memory.

I'm trying to work out a good place to put a fuel filter, I want it under the car and there is not a huge amount of room down there, I'm running a custom made tank the same shape as an original one but with a fuel pump inside so all I need externally is the filter. I was thinking of fitting it either inside the spare wheel well or somehow securing it to the forward edge of it underneath the car just behind and above the tank. Some of the filters I was thinking of using: http://www.nukeperformance.com/products/fuel-filters/fuel-filter/ http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-filters/12317/10-micron-redblack-canister-fuel-filter/ http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-filters/12303/ss-series-40-micron-fuel-filter/ Anyone got photos of how they have installed theirs?

Can anyone give me correct length the propshaft needs to be for use with McKinney RB26 mounts please. So I can get a custom one made before I start my swap and wont have to measure up and then get it build thus delaying the swap a good couple of weeks. I don't want to order the McKinney one because shipping and import costs make it not worthwhile and also I want to use an R33 GTS-T diff flange instead of a 240/260Z one. Plus they really suck at replying and customer service so it probably take a year of e-mails before I would actually be able to even buy one.
-
Thanks, had a another good look through and found it, on page one though.

e-mail sent Ricky, thanks.

Is that the cobalt blue glow or standard blue? and do you think it would be possible to fit 2 5/8" gauges in the pods?
-
I'm looking for a set of McKinney RB26 Swap mounts for my 78 260Z (so I guess that's the same as 280Z mounts) Tried McKinney themselves and Raw Brokerage but having no luck in getting a reply from either so thought I's see if by any chance I could get some from here.

Both made by the same place so it wouldn't make any difference.

Love it, not sure about the rear end (not bad, but I feel stock Z doesn't need changed) but everything else is awesome. The dash looks great. What is the radiator from? Skyline?- 110 replies
