  1. Nice wheels, but how are you going to get power to the ground? /lol
  2. Mhhmmmmmm, the one with the gold plated intake, yeah!
  3. 600hp? Absolutely use a torque plate.
  4. Well, I run my L28 at only 300whp, so yours is beastly by comparison
  5. Welcome back, that setup looks beastly, very well done.
  6. 74 is 260Z, pretty sure all those were R180 not R200. Check this site: http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/GearRatios.html
  7. Stock L28ET makes those numbers easily. So do many other engine options including any turbo L28. Generally speaking, compression ratio is not a major consideration when considering that minor amount of power from a turbo engine.
  8. Supposedly the 3.36 R200 only came in 79 280ZX 2+2 with a 4 speed manual. Very rare. Nobody bought 4 speeds with 5 speeds available.
  9. What an awesome project. Looking really good so far.
  10. Looks like it's in very nice condition.
  11. If you are measuring the resistance of the middle pin and the resistance increases with an opening throttle, the open pin is positive, and the other meter probe is on ground.
  12. Despite the reported trouble blending the front of the flare to the air dam, I think it looks amazing. Very nice work there.
  13. I totally understand. I am merely suggesting that there may be a basis for the perceived difference.
  14. Yes, more heat will be generated, but the intercooler will still take most of it out, and the boost pressure is regulated. Net result should be less effect on a turbocharged engine vs. N/A.
  15. I know everyone knows this already but 250hp/300ft-lbs is handled easily by the stock R200 long nose. Until the 8.8 became the hottest topic, the long nose R200 was considered just fine for all mild V8 swaps and some fairly upgraded ones too. Drag racers have run the R200 well into the 11s without issue (other than the lack of LSD options/ratios).
  16. LOL, if it performs as expected, I guarantee you someone (everyone) without one will.
  17. It looks like a Maxima caliper, 280ZX rotor setup. Similar to what I am installing this summer.
  18. I'll out on a limb and say that N/A engines seem more sensitive to pressure drops across the filter since the engine only has 1 atmosphere to operate on.
  19. Tell me about it. Last Binky episode was October, and all they did was plumb power steering and make a heater unit. So anxious for another installment, it's so interesting and amusing.
  20. I'm still following it, but in the sense that I cannot help but watch a train wreck in action. He's cut the body up into little pieces in spots that make zero sense. He cut right across the cowl, and cut all the structure out of the bottom. That chassis he fabricated to hold the M5 subframes is a guaranteed disaster, with no plan for how to mount the struts or body on it. I just can't stop watching now that the project is past the point of no return. He's in a deep hole and still digging, and I want to see how deep it gets before he throws in the towel.
  21. Motorsport Auto? http://www.thezstore.com
  22. Nice work! I've been watching a lot of Youtube videos of rust restoration on Zs and other classic vehicles. I've nothing but respect for the patience and attention to detail this takes.
  23. Nothing will happen if it's too big. You will simply have less restriction.
