  1. Woo now. I'm in the VIR 2:10 club with no problem whatsoever with Dave's 6 pods on the front and 4 pod on the rears. I've been running Wilwood "H" pads for the last year with at least 20 track days on them and they still have a way to go. Mark, I don't know whast going on with your setup and would defer to Wilwood tech support and have a conversation with Dave to get their take on the situation.
  2. SKIB....After studying the tables found at OREGON ADMINISTRATIVE RULES, I seriously doubt that your car is actually illegal. Have the sound level checked in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the tables and if I'm correct, plead not guilty and show the results to the court. Those sound levels are apparently the law in your state and the decision of your car being too loud is NOT up to the desecration of the police. Let us know how it turns out.
  3. Johnc, Afetr looking at Dow's web site regarding IMPAXX energy absorption foam and I think a number of us are looking forward to hearing more about it. Hopefully you will share information about IMPAXX and how we could use it. Most of us are making plans to go fast without providing adequate protection from the "what ifs" that can ruin the day.
  4. Real estate and residential construction have been my livelihood for many years. Needless to say, my income has taken a big hit and future projections aren't too bright here on the Beach. I have curbed my spending habits and look closely at what is essential and what isn't. My race car will continue to be meticulously maintained but upgrades are mostly on hold until the black cloud passes. However I will add, the longer I live, the more I know there is wisdom in the saying, "all things will pass." My point? Things WILL get better with the passage of time. Hang in there and keep z faith.
  5. It's the same old story and sorry to say, but it all boils down to dollars and cents. The body work should come first but if your wallet can't stand it, there's only one alternative. SAFETY first and bling thereafter. Think about how to stop a fast car and make it handle. That's my two cents worth.
  6. Yasan...........Nice job. If it runs half as good as it looks, it's a winner. Too often the zx gets a bad rap but you have shown us again just how nice they can be made. I hope you will add the completed car pictures to this thread. Again, nice job. I really like your car.
  7. Some good advice above about replacing vac lines. I found a bad one under the charcoal canister that, when replaced, really helped my "extremely overwhelming," as you put it, auto climate control system. These systems can be a real head banger.
  8. Rubber Bands.....................I'm going to be nice because you are a newby. There is lots of good information here. Do some reading. Do some searching. Then if you feel the need, ask a more definitive or clearly defined and formulated question.
  9. Truck freight is normally the least expensive. You would need to secure your clean, drip free, plastic wrapped engine to a pallet and deliver it to shipping terminal. It would also need to be picked up at the destination terminal. It worked for me.
  10. Easy John, are you referring to Red Bird's Bling? Just joking. But I agree with your comments about the installation above. I have had fuel starvation problems, usually happening after hard braking followed by a right had corner, i.e., turn one at VIR. I installed a .5 gallon surge tank on my firewall under the bracing. It's feed directly from the pump into the side, top fitting on the tank and then out the bottom to supply the fuel rail. I tested last month at Carolina Motorsports Park with no apparent starvation. I do have safety concerns due to having it in the engine bay and may move it to the rear whenever I decide the best way to fit it. Here are a couple of pictures of my installation. I did it as "blingless" as I could. (The black AN hose, "dangling" in the picture, is the turbo cooling line that I disconnected for some other project I'm attempting to complete.)
  11. Yasin, I had a similar problem when trying to fire my new engine after we installed it. I even had the factory Electromotive rep. on hand to help solve the mystery. Timing, fuel pressure, injectors firing, etc. were spot on. I finally suggested that we try feeding it some gas manually. Lo and behold it fired up and all was good! Yes, it sounds "off the wall", but it worked for me.
  12. http://hosetechniques.com does not offer radiator hose for our car's sizes.
  13. Any recommendations for a silicone radiator hose supplier?

  15. Earl's performance plumbing and advice when you need it can be found at http://www.anplumbing.com
  16. Justin, I'm always reluctant to recommend anything. My car sets low and the 10" springs work for me. Good luck!
  17. QUOTE: Avoid using a citrus based degreaser on aluminum. A simple way I've degreased a head is to mostly fill a 5 gallon bucket with Simple Green and stick the head in the bucket for a couple days, turning it 180 degrees on day 2. __________________ John Coffey johnc@betamotorsports.com BetaMotorsports, LLC
  18. I believe it was John C that recommended using Simple Green and a five gallon bucket. I submersed one end of a P90 into it and the other end the next day with very good results. After the bath I rinsed it with water.
  19. Justin, I needed to exchange my 8" for 10" after running out of adjustment on the front. My Ground Control plates are welded, struts are sectioned and spring rates are 350/375.
  20. THK Powergrid is a vendor that advertises in Grassroots Motorsports magazine. (http://www.powergridinc.com) They make adjustable end links for bars. I talked with them months ago and was told that links could be made for my track car if I would supply them with dimensions. Somewhere between my busy life and my lack of knowledge as to how to adjust them for my needs, has lead me to not contacting them again. Perhaps someone with real setup knowledge will chime in and describe the merits of having the ability to adjust the end links.
