This is the guy you want, Charlie Osborne at Zedd Findings, http://www.datsunzparts.com/products.html He is the guy that actually makes the panels although many others buy from him and re sell

I got ITB linkage synced up and the engine bay finished off, power steering installed, dash and steering wheel in, The muffler is hanging too low for my taste, I'll have to see if I can adjust it some how, Got the rear glass in and the leather all glued in place, more pics of that to come, Got the wheels/tires dressed and snapped in the Mr.K rear view mirror, Now I'm trying to get the engine started but can't get the rpm synced to Megasquirt satisfaction

Those rings, if they are there at all, are at the bottom of the oil pan and will most likely stay there. Even if they did get stirred up they wouldn't get past the screen on the oil pick up or the oil filter, sounds like the guy is trying to whip up a job for himself. No reputable mechanic rebuilds and engine because there 'might be' something wrong with it. Have the valves adjusted if that doesn't clear up the ticking then have a wet/dry compression test done, if the numbers are good then button it back up and enjoy it. If the numbers are inconsistent then have a leak down test performed to find out where the problem lies.

You could also have a look at the X mat that Eastwood sells, http://www.eastwood.com/x-mat I just did my whole car with it and seems to be identical to Dyna mat but a lot less expensive.

Do I Need Bump Stops With New KYB's?
grannyknot replied to Mayolives's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Yes you do, try and find the newer urethane foam bump stops, they are not as harsh as the straight urethane that you see everywhere. Koni makes good ones. -

Thank you, I appreciate it, $10 grand?! That's insane, $1650.00 here in southern Ontario.

Well a brought bracket is just a piece of bent sheet metal too Yes, made it out of some 1/8th" aluminum plate. Got the windshield in today with the help of string line for a the weed wacker, very smooth. The dash is sort of in, just a couple of screws incase it has to come back out.

Got the headliner in and just finished the the header and side rail vinyl so will start on the windshield tomorrow. Tar mat is done and new power cable from the battery is in, also got the side glass finished, Test fitting the leather console cover, A last look at the header before it disappears into the engine bay, Gas tank, fuel pump are in, Brake and Clutch Masters are in and ready to go, Engine is almost fully assembled,

Problems Removing Strut Gland Nut 73 240z
grannyknot replied to Mayolives's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Use lots of heat and penetrant and alternate between the two, it is sooo easy to f--k them up. This was using a pipe wrench and not enough patience -
And for those of us you barely understand what Andy is saying, here is the text version, http://www.adaptronic.com.au/ecu-grounding-tips/

Different Progressive springs
grannyknot replied to walkerbk's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I've read that several times on this forum, what is it about progressives that you don't like? Ah, something to do with racing? -
Did you find a better shop to do the work? I remember you weren't very happy with those last jokers.

Heavy Duty frame rails and connectors
grannyknot replied to toolman's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
Those are some stout frame rails, what engine are putting in? -
Thanks guys, the colour is actually is from a Jeep, it is called Anvil Grey, Chrysler did something good for a change My camera is screwed, this what the car really looks like, I found a pic of a Z in the same shade. I just love this colour!
-
The car is back in my garage now and I have started re-assembly, the colour balance is wrong on my camera and the paint looks lighter and bluer than it really is.
-
Getting back to it. Working on the Z again.

^ My experience with Tabco is very similar, the rockers make great patches and the lower rear quarters are useless. -
One of these with a hole cut in the center will work, http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic03a13 but if you hunt around on the MSA site I think they have a reproduction rubber grommet for that job.
-
It took me a while to find it but this is the best way I have found to fix those regulator rollers. Post #16 http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/47753-window-not-lining-up/#comment-489430

Wow that crack is on both sides hinging in the middle, it looks like a stress crack to me. I'm kinda cheap so I would weld it and see how it goes but that piece can be p/u here for about $20-30.00 used. -
Nice horns, there are these guys, http://www.ramair-filters.co.uk/products/automotive/carburetor-itbs-automotive/sock-filters-automotive/ but their website doesn't give much info, I found their ebay site better to use, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ramair-Motorcycle-Carb-Velocity-Stack-Sock-Foam-Air-Filters-/351209511379?hash=item51c5b7d9d3:g:FmQAAOSwAYtWHStV&vxp=mtr
