  1. Nicely done and it sounds great! Way better than those rusty twice pipes...
  2. I was thinking more along the lines of thin (~0.001") brass shim stock. Thin brass is pliable enough to work in a round bore. You can get creative and use thin pieces of paper, etc. This works well for setting butterflies as well: put shim stock around the butterfly and tighten screws. The flashlight method should work well as far as showing differences between bores.
  3. How about a thin feeler gauge between closed butterfly and throttle bore?
  4. I did! I forgot to thank you for the tip about Jauce, so THANK YOU!
  5. Yep, that was my handiwork. It's a common issue, I don't think my TWM manifold is much better...
  6. Agree with NewZed on this one. Peter's emails never came off as rude but yours did. Hard to detect tone over the internet...
  7. Hi Jim, Actually, just got my final shipment of lash pads in this week! I'll be installing them tomorrow and checking wipe patterns once again. I know what you're talking about regarding valve retainer to rocker arm contact. I noticed that when I first installed my Isky retainers and is why I switched back to stock retainers. Simply switching back to stock will be easier versus milling the ones you have. I'm definitely planning to be at JCCS and check out the progress you guys have made!
  8. My vision for the car is a period-correct (ish) modified Z, or at least for it to have that feel. I do plan to get a 123ignition distributor at some point...
  9. WBO2 back in action! Connecting the wideband to the Megajolt won't really get you anywhere, besides maybe being able to incorporate some sort of failsafe (i.e. IF full throttle AND mixture > 14:1 THEN spark cut). I'm not sure whether the Megajolt supports any math/programming in that fashion though... If you wanted to datalog, it would be nice to have some key inputs like RPM, MAP, and AFR for general logging and tuning purposes. That would be the main reason to hook up the 0-5V wideband output to the Megajolt, IMO.
  10. Got most of the (hopefully) correct size lash pads and the rest are on the way. Had to get .190", .210", and .220" pads. One of them will stay .205". Four different sizes, yeesh... Also, my birthday present to myself finally arrived!
  11. Interesting. I fought driveline vibrations with the car until just before I sold it. Make sure you check the rear diff mount (mustache bar nuts) because they cause weird vibration issues when they loosen up.
  12. I bought that DS years ago for $110 when I swapped in the 3.9 R200. Thought I got ripped!
  13. Above and beyond, great job! Can't wait to see this car again after all you've done.
  14. Funny, both you and Jon use the same logic to discredit Stance as I do to shine a little light on them. No I've not tested their new stuff but have you guys? Just trying to stay objective here...
  15. Stance has gotten a lot better than the reputation that seems to follow them. I bet they'd be a great option for you. We have a few customers running Stance coilovers including an Evo 8 track car with double-adjustables. The owner seems to like them just fine, he trains with a professional driving coach so we're not messing around here.
  16. Early 260Z front struts have slightly lower spring perches than 240Z struts, making them early 260Z-specific. The rears are identical to the 240Z from what I've measured. Most everything else is similar to 240Z. If you ever do bushings, you need 280Z bushings for all 260Z steering racks.
  17. Been busy with all sorts of stuff but slowly working on the Z! I got a new daily driver as well, a '00 Civic Si, so plenty to keep me busy. Your Z is looking great! Hopefully mine is ready around April as well.
  18. Wow, you're getting close! Any idea of when you'll be back on the road?
  19. Nice find. Sounds like a way better option than Delta and corroborates with what I've learned in speaking with Ron Iskenderian. Although if you can find new rockers I'd go with that.
  20. My L24 crank reads E3141 and the L28 is P3040.
