  1. Hello Northwest Z-ers! My wife and I are heading out tomorrow for a week-long road trip from SF to Seattle. We'll be in Portland on Monday and in Seattle Tuesday-Friday. I'd love to hang out with some NW Z-heads! Shoot me a PM if you're free and willing. P.S. We're taking the Outback and will have room for parts!
  2. Holy hell man! That is some serious destruction.
  3. BTW, I believe that Alan T originally posted that scan online. Just giving credit where it's due...
  4. Looks like you did a fantastic job! Great work getting this Z back on the road.
  5. I'd run the P90 and be done with it. You'll be at stock NA 280ZX compression with the flat-tops. Run the head stock and use it as a backup once you put the turbo motor in. This is the simplest and quickest path to enjoyment. Plus, the P90 has square exhaust ports which will match your header. It may not be a monster but it'll be a fun, torque-happy motor.
  6. USPS international shipping rates were pretty reasonable, from what I remember. Good luck in your search, Ian!
  7. Good find, Jim! Your car should be really sorted now. As for JCCS, we're still deciding. There's a lot of stuff going on that weekend but I really hope to make it out there!
  8. I love it! I actually got an email from the kid that I bought the car from, when I was selling it. The shop teacher saw the ad and he forwarded his teacher's email on to me. It's so interesting to get to know the history of these old cars. Love the work you've done to it, keep it up!
  9. How did the spark plug from that cylinder look, compared to the others?
  10. Leon

    Car is fixed!

    Beautiful, nice job!
  11. Steve, I agree! I've been wanting to reinforce that area, thanks for the lead on Bad Dog. The bushings are nice and greased up.
  12. Nice job Bill! It's been a while since I've seen your Z. Suspension is looking beautiful. Steve, thanks for the info! I have big bars installed and need to check the frame rails for reinforcement. I've also noticed that if you lower the car too much or hit a big enough bump, the bar bottoms out on the frame rail causing all sorts of bad binding issues that can lead to cracking the mounts. Your Z looks great, I love that lime green! Jim, looks like I probably won't make JCCS. High school reunion falls on the same day...
  13. Thanks for your support, Steve! Even if you don't live close by, you definitely help motivate. Glad to hear about your project going well! What was the solution to the ARB mount in the frame rail? Any photos of your Z?
  14. Hi Steve, same update as the one above... I did get a bit reinvigorated this weekend after tuning a buddy's Rebello stroker. The problem is that I work on cars all day and then have other cars at home that seem to take priority over the Z. I'm not making time to work on it. With that said, I'm almost caught up so soon it will be Z time once again! How are you liking your Bilsteins so far?
  15. This would be a pretty cool and unique swap if you can pull it off!
  16. "Honey, let's go to Long Beach for your birthday!"
  17. Wow, sounds like you've got some good projects going there! Major bummer about the crank. I had a crank-trigger ignition setup in my previous Z, running Megajolt and Ford EDIS. It definitely worked very well and was very stable. Hope to see you at JCCS!
  18. Jim, there is an allowance in the FSM for bushing play in the distributor drive shaft. There may also be checks for the gear drive but I'm not certain.
