  1. Without a some way of datalogging you are pretty much SOL, you NEED to have something to go off of. Someone could give you a copy of their map, but there's a 99% chance that it'll need some fairly serious changing around. MT and TS don't need much power to run, so an ancient cheap laptop will do. You can also log with a palm if you have one.
  2. Those are tools for degreeing the cam, I guess I was just assuming either the factory sprocket had a hole that worked, or an adjustable sprocket.
  3. Assuming the cam is degreed properly when installed, I'm not sure exactly how this could happen. The ratio between the cam and the crank is completely independent of the length of the chain connecting them. I could understand if the tensioner couldn't take up that much slack.
  4. Parts for a 3" are pretty much the same price as for 2.5" too, there's really no reason not to.
  5. Looking at the math, 7psi should be fine, and it is. The problem will start creeping up around 10psi and be noticeable at 12-15psi depending on how well your engine actually breathes compared to what you thought when you drew the lines on the compressor map.
  6. You can also just run MAPdot accel enrichment, I'm not using a tps at all. I haven't got much driving in to see if it's acceptable, but it revs fine and the limited driving I've done(pretty much untuned) has been alright.
  7. I just started with the loans. I transferred to a 4 yr school and wow is it pricey. This one semester is costing about the same as my whole 2.5yrs getting an AS to transfer with. If my planning and math works out I should hopefully end up with about 20-25k when it's all said and done. I'm just hoping to be able to find a decent job when I graduate in a few years.
  8. The best I've been able to find was dimensions of each.
  9. No, it won't. The 300zx turbo has a cast elbow with a different flange, that pipe won't even bolt up, let alone fit the car. You could get a cheap mig welder and do your own, or just get the car towed.
  10. I bought set of LS1 heads on ebay and had them shipped to me via USPS, they took over a week longer(it was already supposed to take 9-12 days) to get to me than the post office said. The lady that delivered them said they were sitting in the corner for quite a while because they were heavy.
  11. The O trim wheel is a turbine wheel, normally used in a T4 housing, it's smaller than the normal P trim T4 wheel. I don't remember how it compares to a stage 3 or stage 5 T3 wheel though, I'll have to look it up. Another member here(Clifton, I think) runs an O trim with a .58 a/r turbine housing and made low 400's at the rear wheels.
  12. MSA sells the entire stud kit, with the large top bolts(12mm I think) for something like $17. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PEC05/15-8080
  13. diyautotune.com is the place I always order from, excellent shipping and they are active on this and many other forums.
  14. HP = TQ*RPM/5252 Looking at the formula, HP is ALWAYS lees than TQ when the RPM is below 5252. When TQ is larger than HP, it just means that it makes the power at a lower RPM.
  15. You can have the stim set wrong and get a tach signal without the resistor, but I assure you, the pull up is needed for an rpm signal with the '83 cas. It's easier to put the pull up in the MS case, then you don't need to change any wiring.
  16. If you look, the coils on the valvespring aren't all evenly spaced, wonder why that is? They don't move much, maybe it is an attempt to remove 'unsprung' weight. I was hoping at the end it would do that, but they didn't. There was another high speed/slow motion valvetrain video from something else, I'll see if I can find it.
  17. You're using the hall/optical circuit, correct? Do you have a 1k pull up resistor on the white wire?
  18. Brake cleaner isn't nearly flammable enough. I doubt there's enough volume behind the drum to make an explosion big enough to knock it off anyhow.
  19. At first I didn't like the new layout, but it's growing on me now. I also like the quick reply WAAAAAYYYYYY better than the old one, I might actually use it now. Edit: I'm not sure what the problem with editing is, just click the edit button.

  21. Or 6 egt probes that you can log at all times because of the awesome onboard sd card datalogging.
  22. The diagram for the plug is in one of the stickies up top. As for MS mods, just use the hall/optical input circuit. Do you have the oil pump shaft? You'll need the 82-83 turbo shaft to use that dizzy.
  23. I've got a 220v harbor freight one, it works great. I've cut 1/2" before in one pass, 1/8" is like butter in steel or AL. I've never had a problem with it either.
  24. The t61 and BW s256 have some pretty good looking maps for big power.
