  1. If you're interested, I do complete coilover conversions, and have no problem crating and shipping internationally. Send me a PM if this is something you'd like to get some more info on Here's a few pics of my work:
  2. For an all out race effort, the flat top carbs have been modified to be more effective than round top carbs from what I've heard. I'm sure TonyD will chime in on the subject!
  3. I believe he is planning on selling it.
  4. I was about to chime in here, but looks like you found your answer
  5. Looking good man! Really digging the crankcase modifications and that head looks great! Do you have any numbers to share from when your machinist checked the cylinder wall deflection? I'm curious to know how significant it is
  6. According to the current owner, he didn't do any of the work himself, but has the car in his shop as some payment of debt. He came up with the design for the project, but didn't carry out any of the work, and makes no claims of this being anywhere close to a finished product. I do like the concept though! I bet an experienced body man could do the install properly and pull it off, especially with that front bumper.
  7. I came across this listing on craigslist, and thought I would share it with you guys. I'm not a fan of the look, but it's a lot better than I expected it to be! Let me know if the pics aren't working, because I just pulled the code from facebook rather than hosting them myself. http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/2848859925.html http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150684861930239.447483.145762495238&type=1
  8. Hey guys, I'm looking for an r180 mustache bar. Ideally the bushings wouldn't be shot, and you'd have the mounting hardware with it. Nuts for the diff cover are a plus too. I'm also looking for a shift lever for a stock series II 4 speed trans. I believe any curved shift lever from any trans 71.5-82 will work for me. It would be best if it had the pivot pin with circlip, and the plastic piece on the bottom. Shift knob isn't required. It would also be nice to find an engine bay wiring harness that hasn't been hacked to bits like my current one. It's going into a '72 with an externally regulated alternator. The cheaper the better on all of these parts, as I already own them all! However, they happen to be located in my shop back at home while I'm up at school about 4 hours (and $150 in gas!) away... If you are local and have an L2x engine that is in running condition, I'd be interested in it as well. Local in the Seattle area would be awesome, but shipping is possible. If you're looking for trades, that's even better! Trying to put as little money as possible into this car to get it back on the road. Thanks, Ryan
  9. Can I join? I need to weld a new flange onto mine and straighten everything out... I was considering selling it, but I have a matching exhaust, so I think it will go in the newest Z. Way too much header for a bone stock engine, but it should be nice and loud!
  10. Count me in if a percentage of sales is going back to hybridZ as a donation and you have the blessings of the admins Looks great!
  11. If you're looking for a set of 4x114.3 --> 5x114.3 wheel adapters, shoot me a PM. I might be looking to sell my set.
  12. Very nice! Spikes is good stuff I have this rifle from spikes. My roommate is military, so he was able to pick up the LE version and then we did the paperwork to transfer it to me. Upgrades include: Magpul MOE grip Magpul MOE stock Magpul MOE handguards Magpul MOE front grip Rainier Arms compensator DMPS charging handle Extended bolt release (don't remember the details off of the top of my head) Surefire light and mount Magpul flip-up rear sight Next on the list is a dedicated optic, but I haven't decided on one yet. You won't be disappointed with the quality of the lower! I've shot my spikes and a bushy back to back, and it made the bushy feel like it was a cheap imitation. Here's my newest toy Sig p238 bitone with the factory laser not installed in this pic) and extended mag: Sorry for the crappy cell pics!
  13. Tyler, Whenever one of my listings has everything in it sold I use the "report" button with the ! in a yellow triangle (found at the bottom left of each post) to report the original post in my ad to the admins. I essentially say that everything has been sold and the thread can be locked. It's usually taken care of within a few hours Plus, it's nice to have ads locked rather than deleted so members can search through the b/s/t to determine fair prices for items they are looking to buy or sell!
  14. I have never been a fan of media blasting cylinder heads period! This just adds to the pot I would be sourcing a new set of towers and being sure that there isn't any media in your water/oil passages...
  15. Jon nailed it! Here's a pic of a CLSD carrier (from this thread in the FAQ section about adding clutches) in an r200 for comparison:
  16. If I can get a stud off of one of my spare blocks, you're welcome to it for the cost of shipping. It would just be going to the scrap yard anyway If your current one is trashed, I'd channel lock away at it!
  17. Just as a reference to the above method regarding the meniscus level. You want to read the low point of the meniscus for an accurate reading, not the high point seen due to the surface tension of the water. Also, make sure you're using a high density clay that will easily sink, but I think that part is a given.
  18. Hey Jerry, Your link for the pic isn't working for me. Excited to see that you're making these available again!
  19. Dont worry about loosing power with the p90 head. It will give the same compression ratio as the p79. Flat top f54 block Felpro head gasket P90 head Pick a cam from MSA (most people under cam big time) Headers/exhaust Properly jetted and tuned 40mm webers or SU carbs with bigger needles The above combo will give you something that's extremely simple to work on and be pretty reliable. I'd expect around 150hp from it, which will still let you have some fun around town
  20. The purpose of the exhaust liners are to burn off any remaining fuel that was not completely burned during the combustion process. The ones that are white are probably working as intended, but the black sooty one is definitely not getting hot enough to do its job. I would check out the injector on that cylinder to see if it is sticking open or if there's something else that would cause it to run rich. Someone with more knowledge of the stock EFI system might be able to chime in and give a more detailed explanation of why that cylinder might be running rich. How do the plugs look?
  21. Can you please resize your pic? I'm viewing on a 17" monitor and I can't even see the atypical exhaust port in full next to the typical one.
  22. I would love to see some pics of the setup too! How did you get to the 89mm stroke? I drew out a stroker for a customer last year that used subaru rods and was an 89mm bore with an 85mm stroke (offset ground diesel crank) that never actually got built. I'm all ears when it comes to engineering a new engine from an existing platform
  23. Should be in the parts wanted section. Try sending JohnC a PM, as he sells adapters to install these diffs, and may know people who are looking to buy.
