    Tim has the answer to getting the flywheel held in place for torquing it. I typically lower the engine down onto an old tire or two centering the oil pan in the hole. It still has some weight supported by the lift, but this keeps it from swinging around without getting scraped up.

    For a street driven Z you can't go wrong with the ground control kit (with 200-250 lb/in springs) and Tokico Illuminas in sectioned strut housings.

    I'll toss another in for the BFG Rivals. While I personally havent ran a set, they do very well at my local autox events and are the next tire I'll be picking up. They're right on par (actually a little cheaper) than other tires in the same class like the DZ2 and RE-11As. I *think* they only come in a 225 width in 16" though. I'd check tirerack to be sure. Hopefully you can correct me on it and show a 245 width!

    He is on unsectioned coilovers running 8" springs, if I remember correctly. He didn't do the instal on them. I know he was looking to have them sectioned and installed properly, but I don't know if it ever happened or not since he just got married and the car has been on the back burner lately.

    No problem Jerry! I just talked to Eddie and they're Rota RB-R wheels (obviously). Size is 17x8.5 all around with a +4 offset. He used spacers to adjust the fitment.

    It's Eddie Afridi's car. I'll inquire as to the sizes again because I don't remember them off the top of my head, but I know they aren't the group buy sizes (the ones you gave).

    The reason I suggested going with the 280z tokico springs is to stay away from progressive spring, as they're linear and about twice as stiff as stock. Cutting is easy and not "bad" like cutting stock springs. What's your priority here? Closing the wheel gap or focusing on handling?

    I'd at least have some better flares overnighted if you're going that route. You can also install them after your car has been painted if you're careful and take your time.

    I'd recommend the Tokico lowering springs. If you have a 240z run the 280z springs modified per JohnC's instructions here: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/88025-installing-tokico-280z-hp-springs-in-a-240z/ Those instructions are t get a stock ride height. If you'd like them to drop the car a bit do the math to see how much more you'd need to cut. If you have a 280z, run them as-is.

    Rags is on the money! Bolt them up as-is and see how much narrower they'll need to be to clear the fenders. Order up some new outers to match and you'll be good to go.

    My advice is to buy a cheap (read, used $40 Craigslist special) digital camera that's your "car camera". I don't worry about grabbing for it with dirty hands and wiping it down with a shop rag. However, that's not quite the case with my DSLR or my phone's camera... +1 on the hybridz build thread!

    I haven't seen chrome laid on fiberglass, but check out columbia chrome from columbia coatings. It's the best "chrome" powder on the market. You'll want to make sure the part is outgassed properly and I'd personally shoot a light layer of outgassing primer over it too. Be sure to use an acrylic clear over it. Keep in mind, "chrome" powder coating is just a shiny silver and will never look like real chrome plating.

    If you're looking at a BRZ you're going to end up putting a turbo on it.

    Is it a knob, is it the actual electrical component that's bad? We need some more info here. If it's electrical open it up and start researching what it is. You can probably find a replacement from a p/n and solder it in. It could also be a bad solder joint, corrosion (doubt it), etc. Help us help you.
