  1. Build it and keep us informed sounds like a fun project!
  2. I'd be interested to know the actual dimensions of the m112 core if/when you get a chance to look at it.
  3. I've got a VMP 2.5" pulley on mine right now, thinking about picking up a complete GT500 ac compressor with the 10 rib clutch. What are your plans for an intercooler? I'm leaning towards doing a one off laminova setup, but I've also looked at the Shelby and Saleen intercoolers as well. The Saleen core is thin and just about perfect in overall size, but I'm worried it'll heat soak fast and the Shelby looks way too tall where I have the valley mounted starter. If you need any measurements of the m122 let me know and I'll gladly share them. I go out of town Wednesday for about month so it might take a minute to get them to you after Tuesday night.
  4. I think Collins adapters has a plate that will work with the VK45 to z31/32/33/34 transmissions. Just make sure if you go z33/34 you get the CD009 revision with the his synchros and shift forks. JWT might have an adapter plate as well, they have tons of stuff not listed on their website if you call in.
  5. Yeah I got a friend that picked up a very inexpensive 0 mile take out from a 2015 so it's what they called a 8.8 super diff going in my car. You might want to check out 5523 Motorsports down in San Diego. Nick Hunter used to work with the imsa stuff for Nissan and knows all kinds of crazy crazy tricks with different parts interchanging between VK and vq engines for better performance. He's a really good dude, he'll usually talk on the phone with you if you want too and answer emails or FB messages.
  6. Not sure, just recall James mentioning a couple times he had a parts car if I needed something. Jim I know sold/traded the hood in his, originally bought it for the doors and then found out the 280 did won't work on an early 240
  7. FYI I've also learned that the Vk50 uses head studs instead of bolts and they should swap over to the vk56 with out problems, might do the same for your vk45.
  8. Is the cylinder bore pitch on the 45 the same as the 56? IIRC the VK56 is 112 or 114mm center to center
  9. Check the svtperformance.com market place, prices for low mileage take offs seem to be 1/2 to 3/4 what eBay has the m122s going for. I've even seen a gen 1 TVS2300 go for barely over 1k there. Everyone is ditching the older M series for the new TVS like hot cake
  10. Very interested to see where this goes, is that the Cadillac m122 in the pervious pictures? I have a 2012 GT500 M122 in the garage that I'm *slowly* working on getting adapter to a vk56.
  11. If you have the funds get it all done and have peace of mind that all will be good and reliable for a while. As for transmission the CD009 is becoming very popular so if you already need a new clutch you could probably pick up a good low mileage transmission and adapter plate for the cost of the rebuilt r154
  12. Try this guy, he's currently doing a widened aluminum 240z and appear to have amazing sheet metal skills. http://www.PhillipsAutomotiveRepair.com/
  13. Sweet, what track are you hitting? RMR? Would love to come see it rip down the strip next time.
  14. Thanks for the great write up Barrel_Ball! I haven't seen the subaru window motors used before and it looks like it will turn out as a really clean final product. For those reading this thread here's a link to the write up. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/125684-power-window-conversion-for-s30-doors-door-cutting-required/
  15. Looks good! Thank you for writing this up and sharing with the community.
  16. If you get time please do a write up on how you modified the window motors and gear track to work together, it looks very nice and compact.
  17. Nice progress, like the taillight and dome light solutions. I looked into the HHR lights at one point, I like that end result.
  18. Agreed, guess I should have read the sales a little closer. I had just thrown the measurements a search and started looking around.
  19. Something like this? http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/221129871659?_mwBanner=1
  20. What engine are you running? If it's some form of an LS powertrain looks like you figured out Subaru stub axles can handle horsepower but not the torque of a V8. That or they are poor quality axles
