  1. That essentially how your new SS Cobalt/mustang/camaro/Corvette/Hellcat cars all work. Supercharger blows directly into the A-W aftercooler and then down a short runner into the cylinder head. Google laminova intercoolers and you'll see all kinds of designs for different inline 6 BMW intercooler ideas.
  2. So only update was the purchase of a 1999 mustang GT hydrobooster setup last week. It cost more than I was told upon entering the yard, but was still cheaper than anywhere online or from a parts store. No pics right now, but I'm excited with how much more room it should give the cam cover and cylinder head on the driver's side.
  3. Seriously debating throwing out the supercharger vk56 and going LS1.
  4. $300 LS, where in Utah are you finding those? I've seen a few short blocks for that or a little less but everyone seems to want a lot more for a complete long block ($500-750 on average?).
  5. Might look on ksl and try this guy for a headlight bucket? http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=678&ad=41582526&cat=&lpid=
  6. I know right! Makes life so much easier and cost effective
  7. Mocked up the Harrop TVS2300 on a Stillen manifold set, also ordered in a water pump, fan pulley, idler pulley and tensioner pulley to start routing the belt. Best part about the stillen lower manifold is they cast in two sets of injector bungs so direct port meth or nitrous down the road will be an easy upgrade!
  8. Might try this onee too http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=678&ad=41455901&cat=&lpid=
  9. That's awesome, glad things worked out to where you can get her back!
  10. Small but exciting change, found a Harrop TVS 2300 for a really good deal and the m122 is up for sale. Also started collaborating with another VK56 enthusiast and was able to get a great deal on a Stillen lower manifold and upper plenum that should be here tomorrow. Really excited as this will get things rolling on having the blower alignment and intercooler mostly figured out with about half of the original expected fabrication work.
  11. Doesn't sound unreasonable for the rebuild prices, it sucks but you do get what you pay for. I'd look into the forged pistons if you really are going to put a bigger turbo though, $300 more for a quality aftermarket forged set with good rings might be the difference between running for a long time and where you are right now all over again. Of course I'm slightly crazy and building a one off Nissan VK56 with a TVS2300, custom ground crankshaft, rods and pistons... pistons alone are going to be $800-1600 depending on vendor, rods have been worked out for $700 and the crankshaft was $400 for bearings, grind mains and micropolishing
  12. Just crate the T56 Magnum and send it back
  13. I've got the original 4 speed from my 71 out in the garage. Just give me an address and I'll ship it out to ya with no extra cash on your end, won't even require transmission tunnel mods
  14. Best part is you can load the app to an Android tablet and have a large amount of data right at your finger tips on one screen
  15. I've had a few times it hasn't wanted to connect, just unplugged the adapter and tried again. No problems with sleep mode though. App does like to stay running in the background though, usually have to exit the at and then check to make sure it actually closed. They are alot of forums for extra PIDS and dealer only functions that you can program in. I mostly use mine for watching sensors on Powerstrokes and diagnosing problems
  16. I really like my BAFX bluetooth reader, paired with the paid version of the Torque app it does a really good job.
  17. My guess would be he's thinking of using an S13/14 subframe with the short nose differential
  18. Look at the t3 and silvermine rear disk kits, honestly a lot of people claim the drums are very adequate for daily driving and cruising. At your power levels of an LS3 though discs make sense, double check rotor and caliper fitment with whatever size wheels you are going to run. The brake FAQ section has some good write-ups and information.
  19. Thank you! Actually just got home late last night so I'm hoping to work in the garage this afternoon.
  20. Sorry to hear about all of your losses, I would pull the interior though and let it all dry before you count it as a total loss though. In the mechanical stuff follow everyone's advise so far, especially the WD-40, it will dispel the water immediately from any bare metal surfaces keep surface rust from setting in and pitting as bad.
  21. That's a pretty slick idea on the warning lights, like that volmeter too. I've seen them used quite a bit on older motorcycles and are supposed to be fairly robust and reliable.
