Mom's honda pilot looks to have three small square tabs 120* apart that work pretty good. Might try making a trim ring that you could sandwich the rubberr between as well?
-
That's looking amazing! As for the cup hloders just look at how some oem flaps are shaped and order the appropriate rubber from McMaster, cut a small slot for it to push through from behind and bond them in. I don't think removing then to clean would be an absolute necessity.

That's a good point, several Toyota pickups and mini van have them too.

Need Assistance: R33 GTS-T Rear Hub Removal
1969honda replied to V-Fib's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Heat around the perimeter with a rosebud torch and then use some bees wax where the two pieces are pressed together (the lip balm type works as well). The bees wax will creep between the parts while hot and lubricate the two surfaces making it easier to pull apart. I've done this on all kinds of undercarriage parts for trailers and trucks and it seems to work great. -
Cup holder placement looks nice, might consider taking some rubber sheet and cutting a few small flaps to bond in. If you do it so that they protrude into the cup area from the back side they hold cups and bottles like a vise, but are really easy to reach in and pull out change and other small items. Take a look at a Toyota mini van center console and you'll know what I mean if it doesn't quite make sense.

Looks good! Like the rectangular extrude for the arming switch, should come out really nice when it's all said and done

First off welcome to the club, as for the V6 I'd be surprised if a v8 kit didn't fit the 4.3L as it is basically a 350 with two cylinders cut off, IIRC it is the same bore and stroke. I had a couple different S-series trucks years ago with 4.3l, they had great torque but poor fuel economy, a SBC would gain more power and not much more weight with the same amount of work and a lot wider variety of performance upgrades down the road. As for the turbo options, look thru the v8 section on here and I'm sure you'll find plenty of information and people willing to help out. Don't forget to do you homework and use the search function though, it'll save you a lot of time, flaming and hassel from those "in the know" that have answered similar questions multiple times. Good luck with the project!

You either have a big printing bed or some skill at bonding multiple pieces together for your mold. As for your push button starter switch I'm going to assume the safety covered toggle is to arm the ignition and the sexy looking bulgin type illuminated push button in the center is the actual igniton switch? Why not mold the toggle with a rectangular indent to match the switch profile? Just a quick and dirty concept, I know the shapes/compound angles might be a little harder but if your printing the mold it might be a little easier? Or you could put the switches on a raised bed/platform above the main surface and use another bulgin illumnated latching type switch on the far right? However you do it I'm sure it will come out looking pretty nice if you've got experience with CF and access to other equipment like your 3D scanning software. I'm definitely subscribed to see how things turn out.

I read on XJared's S130 VK56 build over on the Nicoclub that he used an AEM Honda 30-1050U box to get his car running and I see a local classified ad for a Series 2 Honda box. I'm wondering if it will work, seller doesn't remember exact model number just that is a series 2 (as evidenced by the physical ecu box labeling); the AEM website lists the following as specs: Up to 12 peak and hold injector drivers Up to 8 direct-fire coil outputs Up to 16 general-purpose outputs Up to 8 definable switch inputs Up to 4 EGT inputs with fuel trim 1MB of internal data logging Wondering if this would work for my VK56 S30 project that I am currently (slowly) working on? I can't PM XJared on Nicoforums because I don't have enough posts to enable the feature. I did post on his build thread asking about this possibilities but I thought I would post here as well since I am sure some of you are way beyond me in ECU/ECM knowledge and capabilities. I don't see any problems where it will handle 12 injectors and 8 direct fire coils. I'd feel better about bugging the seller anymore about the price, and driving the hour to get it, if I knew for sure I could make it work. I also know one of the local custom shops mentioned they have worked with AEM boxes while tuning on their dyno but they don't sell them directly. Thanks!

Sounds to me like it makes you a good parent for being concerned and also involved in her life while away from home. -
Sorry to hear that, I know how you feel I've been struggling with my crank grinder since April to get things straightened out so I can mock up my short block. Hope things turn around for you whichever way you go.

Look here, http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/67842-s30-inner-rack-ends-thread-size/ might be a universal moog that will work according to this thread and the link in post #4. -
New Z new crappy build thread

Sounds like the start to a fun build! Keep us updated on the engine build progress and remember pics are always welcome and encouraged -
Also check the wiring for the low side to see if you have a short to ground or broken harness, if I remember right they are exposed to the open wheel wells and subject to what ever gets flung/splashed in there. Looks like a nice find by the way! Any plans for improvements or changes?

Kinda spendy, but try an adapter like this if you're right on top of the rail and then run hoses to a filter head and throw a cooler in-line while your at it.

That looks awesome TUME, how high vertically is your pivot tube?

Love the Cube taillight mod, I saw some photoshop ideas like that a while back and thought it would look pretty good. Car looks like it'll be pretty sweet.

My 560ZX ( Titan VK56DE powered 280ZX S130 ) Build Thread

Thanks for the info, the issues I saw seemed to be from drifting with modified pans and drag racing so that's definitely inline with your experience. Thanks again! -
Where at in Utah are you? If you have 220v for the dryer/furnace/AC you could always pull a line from there and make sure to not run both at the same time, if you did it would just trip the breaker. Also try KSl.com, their classifieds is much more popular than Craig's list here in utah. Not to thread jack but could I get a copy of your rotisserie cad file Jay?

Any verdict on how comfortable they are yet? They look really nice.

Throw some modeling clay on top of a piston, assembly and turn it over by hand. After going thru a couple rotations of the crank if you havent had to stop due to interference, pull the head and measure the thickness of the clay where the valves indentations are and go from there.

I'm in, I would like to go the s13 rear subframe myself, take lots of pics for us where in the'stan where you stationed?
