@M_Dragan Id probably add sleeves as rturbo 930 mentioned. I ended up adding them on my Z as I had a similar issue and upon further inspection it turned out that the rails were rotten. I just recently posted an update on my build thread showing how bad the rails actually were.

Thanks for the picture.

Thanks, Yes they wanted $350 just for shipping. I've tried looking through ebay and buying from them but its still a ridiculously high price on shipping. If your willing to do that let me know and I'll send you the money and my shipping address right away.

Placed some orders for some misc engine parts and decided I'd start on a new manifold. Found some inspiration online and decided to start plugging away. Tubes were cut, tacked into place and sent off to be welded professionally. The shop recommended I add a flange incase I decided to change anything down the road. They did an amazing job. Anyone know anywhere to get a stainless 1jzgte manifold flange? I was looking at the CX Racing one but they want $350 usd just to ship it up to Canada.

Wanted to reuse the same swaybar so made a little template with the printer. Drilled the holes, put a couple hollow rods going through them and welded them up, everything was ground smooth and fit like a glove.

any chance you have pictures of this set on the car? Was interested in getting something similar but never found anything I loved on the car.

Little update from over the winter up until now. After making the patch panel I decided to dive into some more rust I had found on the rad support. Ended up finding a lot of lipstick on this pig. Bent some tube and mocked up what I was envisioning. Then I stripped her down and cut out everything I could find that had rust, and I know I should have inspected and done this before. Better late then never I guess...New frame rails cut to length and tacked into place. Decided to work on the engine a bit as well now that its out. Had some inspiration from @seattlejester with the 3d printing. Managed to pick one up and started plugging away at drawings. Still need to fine tune my settings but its a good start.

I ran my wiring along the OEM side on the frame rail and its been fine.

after seeing those prices I'm praying the Canadian dollar goes up. Great to know about those options though

sadly its slow going with the Z. Its either we're swamped with work trying to catch up or we're swamped with trying to find work to keep my guys going. For the little I've driven my car since I put the rubber on I'm enjoying them, when they heat up I have no complaints. I don't have many km's on them and I highly doubt I'll be driving my Z this year as I tore it apart through out the winter and haven't had a chance to put it back together. I'll need to get a post going sometime soon. I was thinking of doing upgrading this year while the car in tore apart but haven't looked much into which route I'd take. You thinking of making the switch soon? if you are which donor are you thinking of going with?

when do you expect this to be complete? Are you able too also scan the dash. I'll be purchasing this off you for sure, the dash would be a bonus though!

what specs did you end up running on your wheels? I have some speed forme flares and haven't had a chance to fit them up yet. Anything you disliked about the kit when installing it?

that tank is a good idea, looks like it was meant to be there. I need to either clean out my current tank or repair/ replace it, was having a similar issue when the car was on the road. What year camaro is that from?

are you welding that in? how close to the firewall will the engine sit?

just went through the build, great job!👍 I just started plugging away at removing some rust on my Z this winter and it already looks like my front rails need to be removed. -
Thanks! was thinking of cutting most of the front end out and bead rolling some more pieces to toss in there. Just need to find some time.
-
had a day off over the holidays I ended up pulling most of the front end apart and managed to fab up a couple patch panels.

Havent posted in a while so here's a bit of an update. After finishing the rear flares I ended up driving the car for the remainder of the summer and was orginally planning of doing the front flares this winter. Long story short I've decided I'm going to pull the car completely apart again and fix all the "little" things that have been bugging me. The current plan is to weld up all the extra holes in the fire wall, address any rust I find, fix up my panel gaps, then try finishing up with a new intake plenum and possibly some air suspension. Kicking myself in the ass for not doing it sooner. The gap between my door and rocker panel that the previous owner(s)? did is pretty rough, I'll be honest a little worried to see whats behind it. Was looking at either getting a replacement from Tabco or getting one bent up.
-
Sorry I completely forgot to do that 😅. Will get that for you late today.
-
Ended up stretching the flares out, I think it looks a lot better than it did and am pretty please with how it came out. Now to start gathering parts for my fuel system upgrade.
-
have to agree with grannyknot, give the fabbing a chance. Plan a lot before doing any fabbing, grab some cardboard and make your first template see how it goes. Once you think you have all the issues solved transfer your template to metal.

@softopz ended up making 300whp and torque was at 280, that was at 6500rpm. I was limited due to my fuel system, it'll be one of the next things upgraded. @Ereschkigal @seattlejester thanks for the feedback, shortly after taking those pictures I ended up pulling the fenders further away from the body of the car in order to lengthen them a bit. I like how they sit a little better, i'll need to see if they hit or pass that body line a bit later today. The non circular flares were bugging me they just didn't look right, ended up cutting them up going to be attempting to make them more circular.

Got my car back from the tuners! Happy with the numbers considering everything i found out. Starting my fenders. Looking for some honest feedback and opinions. couple things right off the bat that i dislike and im sure ill revise the design of the fenders abit.

found the causes of the weak spark, it turned out to be due to using two different brand harnesses, and one of the harnesses had one incorrect pin for the ignition system, the second reason was due to the igniter needing a better ground. The car is running but i need to upgrade my fuel pump now.
