  1. Stunning photos. Thank you! I like the second one better--the field of flowers is gorgeous with the Z just sitting there. Nice. Davy
  2. Awesome car! I also agree that this is one of the nicest 280ZX's out there. Great bodywork and great wheels, color, everything really. Perfect engine too Things always go better with a V8. Davy
  3. Will do, Jon, will do. And may your wife have a very speedy recovery. I hope & pray it all comes out happy and healthy SOON! Davy
  4. When you use "It's hot as hell," always add, "But it's a dry hell." It makes them think about it. A bit. Davy
  5. I like them. They remind me of spinners on the old Ferrari's with spoked wheels. They look OK on the Cyclones too. Davy
  6. You are the closest! "I am as I am, if I am all I see, but if you are all I see, I see I am as you are." Warren's redneck version of something similar is great!! Davy EDIT: I did screw up the original post above, but my translation is fairly close--but just substitute the appropriate letter for the appropriate word. Excellent guesses guys!
  7. Now THAT is clever... Me likey. Davy

    GT3 & Me

Makes me feel pretty good too Nice. Davy
  9. Here is another from an old song. Each of the letters is actually a word (like an abbreviation)...see if you can make sense of it: I M S I M, F I M L I C. F U R L I C, I M S U R. No, it's not dirty, but it is philosophical. Any guesses? It's easier than you think. Davy
  10. As far as weired words are concerned, I think "cwm" is the strangest. It's a noun and it's definition is "a valley as formed by glaciers..." I think "cwms" is one of the longest English words with no vowels. I have heard someone (my brother?) use "cwmcy" in a sentence as in describing a "non-corporeal cwmcy." I think I was smarter back then and understood it all Davy
  11. Lookin' good! The work looks good so far and the color choices (hammer finish?) for the backing plates and the rear brackets was a good choice--certainly sets off the red calipers. Nice! Undercarriage looks equally clean as well, almost detailed, but hard to tell from the photos. Davy
  12. MMMmmmm, Renault.... *cough cough* I wonder how the Renault fared on the race track with the larger Italian stallions? Did it track too? Nice photos, lads! Davy
  13. I just wanted to publicly thank Austin for his generous offer and follow through to allow me to ship my 240Z to his parents place (palace?) and store the car there until after my new house closed escrow and I was finally able to retrieve the car. Dude, that was very cool and I really appreciate that immensely. I was able to see your car from one of the windows and the workmanship is truly exceptional. I have a hard time believing you did the paint and body yourself---excellent work Thanks for helping out a fellow hybridzer Davy
  14. I love ingenuity, especially when it doesn't cost a thing except for a little time and elbow grease. NICE! Thanks for posting that. Davy
  15. Very nice looking car with some quality components---looks like a winner! Keep us posed on how you do on PINKS. Good luck!! Davy
  16. Charlie, It was great meeting you and your lovely wife at the mini meet in GA a little while back. Sorry to see the Z go, but I'm sure it'll go to a good home. Have fun in the Vette and be nice to all us hot rodders Take care and check in occasionally. Davy
  17. The cheapest I found from CA to NC was $1595. After a search, this was the best I could do. I didn't want to try some of the ones on ebay without a reference and I was pressed for time. All in all, I don't think it was too bad of a price.....but I have not seen my car yet..... Davy
  18. In 1996 I finally had enough moolah to buy a Z. Although I wanted a 240Z, the only one I found in my price range was a 260Z. The car was a light blue 260Z that had cool wheels (Auxilary's car has them now) and dual webbers. It had some frame cancer and I sold it in 1999 after my brother used in college in So Cal. I pined for another Z, this time without rust, and ended up bothering Yuichi from ZDriver.com until he sold it to me after he bought a new 350Z. I still have the car and will finally bring it to it's new home near Charlotte, NC on the weekend. This Z has some basic mods and I had some minor bodywork done on it (shave drip rails and vents). It needs some help and more and more money. I'm at a point in life that I just may finish the car---the desire has ALWAYS been there, but the money has not. Times have changed and I think I'm OK now. Davy
  19. The only unfortunate thing now, is that me and the girlfriend have a campsite booked for this week, so the car is back outside again under a tarp till I get back next week end... Man, make the car a priority. I know at least two guys who would love to take the GF out camping for you and let you work on the car at home in peace. Sounds good, no? When you can, post some pics of the RX7 and the swap. I think they are a cool platform and are still relatively cheap to find. Sounds very cool. Davy
  20. It truly is a "dare-to-be-different" kind of car. While maybe not appealing to everyone, it is unique and could be kind of cool with some exceptionally wide tires in back and a stinger exhaust. I'd make it scream "YES THIS IS A VW!" and be proud of it. I think it would be fun, but would be a lot of work. Davy
  21. Awesome! I had one of those dent companies do a car I bought that had nearly 50 dings here and there on the body when I worked at a dealership years ago. Nearly every one of them was gone completely. It pays to have friends with skills I know you're a happy man Davy
  22. The heat combined with the humidity makes it feel REALLY hot. I have been out in the desert of Sonora Mexico and it feels like it did today HAHA! I don't blame you. We're buying a house in Waxhaw and I may have to install A/C in the garage. It gets very uncomfortable in the garage during the heat of the day. I thought it was hot in my garage back in CA during the summer, but it has nothing on NC! Davy
  23. Amazing fight. I never knew waterbuffalo can be vengeful. Nice to see them stick up for the little guy. Davy
  24. Yes, I'm sure he got back to everyone. Email him and wait for a reply. He always returns my emails too. Davy
