Just realized I never wrote anything in here. I'm 21 and when I was about 17 a friend of mine came over and told me he drove "the z". It was his dad's car and he let my friend drive it sometimes. All I knew was that It was a Datsun, and before seeing the Z my only experience with Datsuns was an old rusted 610 wagon (i think it was a 610.). Needless to say, I was floored when I saw the Z. It wasn't the best looking car, but it was straight, and had a big ol' engine in it. He let me drive it that night, and I fell in love with the thing. His dad ended up selling it a couple months later, and I picked it up for $200. Worked on it through the last 2 years of High School as my senior project, and drove it for the first time the spring after HS. Here is what it looked like when I first got it.

The body looks pretty straight. The rust is not as bad as it could be, but like said before if the rails and floor boards are shot, you'll have a lot of work ahead of you. There are aftermarket rails and floor pans you can buy and weld in, if your heart is set on it. The sunroof actually takes away from the value, if anything. It really hurts the structural integrity of the car, since the roof is a major component in these cars. Unless it fires right up with a little bit of tweaking, I'd offer him $500-$800. But then again, I'm from the west coast, and the prices actually vary quite a bit from coast to coast.

Is anyone working in the Aerospace field? I've been thinking a lot about starting a double major in Aerospace Engineering, along with my major in aviation. Basically because if I ever loose my medical, I'm toast. And the engineering field is always something that's interested me.

Using descriptive thread titles will help people find your thread as well, as you will find out while searching. As for not starting...it could be anything. Have you checked for spark or fuel? The fuel pumps are located just in front of the fuel tank. It's an electric in-line pump. If you can get us some better information, we'll be able to help you better.

MSA sells a version of the ZG flares, without the bolt holes, for a smoother look. Personally I like the bolt holes, but if you're after a more smoothed look, that might be an option.

I've always liked the thought of getting a projector and displaying diagrams and such on the garage wall... Could work for HBZ too!
