  1. You need Ear Type CV Joint Boot Clamp Pliers similar to these: http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?811 I purchased a set a while ago from my local auto parts store. Most auto parts stores that sell tools such as Pepboys and Napa should have similar pliers. To use them you put the clamp on the boot as tight as possible before using the pliers. Then you simply open the pliers, put them on part that sticks of the clamp and clamp it down.
  2. LSD wouldn't hurt either...LOL Nice numbers, good job.
  3. Both the NA and turbo of those years are LSD. The NA has 4.09 gearing and should be a R200. The turbo has 3.69 gearing and should be a true R230. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103512
  4. Sorry to see that happen to you, especially after only having it back one week. I worry about this happening to new cars and expensive one off cars. Hopefully everything goes well with the insurance.
  5. I saw the first couple of videos last night, will try to see the rest of them tonight. It really sucks that we sometimes end up dealing with shady people. I didn't realize the serious rust issues you were dealing with until I saw it on the videos. The most inspiring thing is that you are taking a bucket full of rotten apples and making apple pie. Awesome work so far on the car and the vidoes. Keep the updates and videos coming.
  6. Damn Sparks, that link you posted puts everything into perspective. Sometimes we forget how well we have it until we see how the other half is living. Reminds me to do more to help the less fortunate. I do agree that there are some big pocketbooks out there buying "deathtraps" because they don't know how to drive vehicles with that kind of power. I was behind some guy in a new 911 Carrerra 4S a couple of weeks ago and it looks like he was over-revving everytime he started from a stop so he wouldn't stall it.
  7. Those seats are from the early to mid 90s Ford Probes.
  8. Lose the music...so I can hear your car alot better. LOL Looking good. Keep us updated.
  9. I'm turning 30 on March 18...one month after you. LOL Go figure. My birthday presents are the parts I am currently buying to get my turbo 240z going. I agree those wheels should look great on your car. Congrats Marcos
  10. That is what I was thinking when I was at the junkyard, that CA got EGR crap put on the intake manifolds but I would think that they would have a different part number. I purchased an N42 a week or so ago, from someone out of state, I should be receiving it this week.
  11. I know what you're thinking, same as I, that it should flatten out when you torque the head down and it probably will. The actual reasoning should be why try and use a part with defects and it possibly failing. The result being that you have to shell out the money for a new one, have more down time, and having to do the work twice. If it were me, I would return it and get another one, or use a different vendor just to be on the safe side.
  12. I found the same thing in the junk yard a couple of weeks ago. It was still there on Saturday...I wonder why. lol The part number is also N42. I would think that it would have had a different part number.
  13. Awesome. Your 240Z build is coming out great. Gives us something to shoot for. LOL
  14. I'm in the same boat as Davy, I need to finish the house remodel asap and then get the 240Z up and running at least. I am working on the Z on the side but the house needs to get done first.
  15. Nice...thanks for posting up the pictures. I may end up building a similar adapter. I am also not keen on the idea of welding on the stock cast exhaust manifold.
  16. You can say that again...That is an amazing collection. That is what my basement is going to look like if I win the lottery bigtime... ...with the addition of a few modded Zs.
  17. I agree, I downloaded and ran it with VLC and it worked fine but I have to wait till I get home to see it. It's too long to see the whole thing at work.
  18. I was able to download the complete file but none of the players ran it. I also tried realplayer and let it update divx and codecs but it still didn't run. What player and updates do we need to run the file?
  19. My Z is still down...collecting parts, but I run Amsoil in everything else. I've been running Amsoil products for 4-5 years now and am sold on them.
  20. Check out Bastaad's comments on this post. This could be the simple solution to your problem. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=89131&highlight=cleaning+turbo+connectors
  21. Damn Electrical Engineers...LOL There is a house in East Los Angeles, CA that puts a wire frame, i suppose, all over the house with white light strings and it looks like a castle at night. I'll try and take a picture of it this year and post it up. This was really creative though. Good to see some of us still have the Holiday spirit.
  22. Yes they do. Unless i'm raking the leaves out of the trees. LOL
  23. Luckily I only had one earpiece in or else I would've been ditching the soiled underwear and going commando style around the workplace.
  24. I'll never use platinum plugs again. Tried them once. I always buy NGK.
  25. That is the route I will be going with when I finally get moving with the work on my 240z. I'm in the buying stage of my buildup. Other members have done their own custom setups redoing the complete wiring harness but it looks alot simpler, time saving, and cleaner to go with a painless wiring setup. I haven't chosen which kit to go with though and will decide that when I get to that point.
