  1. Why does the guy reporting this to us have 0 posts? Not doubting its true just seems odd
  2. I personally would rub it with some emery paper to take off any rough edges and run it.
  3. http://hokeperformance.squarespace.com/store/vq-swap-shifter-mount
  4. I personally would take the housing off and take it to a welder/machinist. My father in law does this kind of repair pretty often. He will weld it up and then re-machine the bore back to round.
  5. Didnt you fix your dash years ago? Did it not hold up?
  6. ACT sprung 6 puck with the heavy duty pressure plate. It's held up to hard launches and has held up well.
  7. HJC is not Chinese. They are Korean or Taiwanese i believe. Ok helmet for the money. One thing you need to look at is the standards required required by the sanctioning body your racing in. Pretty much all Manufactures are going to make different levels of helmets that meet different requirements. HJC for instance has entry level helmets at around $80 retail. And they have the Rpha Max helmets also which can be in the $400-$600 range. The cheap ones are only going to be DOT. They will have mid level ones which are Snell also but typically the cheap ones that are snell are very heavy as they have to use heavier cheaper materials to get the strength. Their top of the line helmets which are also snell but are still light do so by using more expensive lighter weight materials. So make sure you do your homework on what is needed and approved for the events your going to be entered. I come from the motorcycle world and worked at dealerships for many years and sold hundreds of helmets. Personally the only 2 brands I will wear is Aria and Shoei. Shoei being my favorite. I race motocross and do some street riding. I have a shelf full of helmets that I have wrecked in hard and then put on the shelf because one good impact is all they are intended for. Yes its expensive but what is your head worth? Also make sure it fits. Have someone measure your head and go by the manufactures size chart. Also under stand that different helmets have different head shapes. Just because your uncomfortable in a helmet that is sized right but isnt comfortable because it is the wrong shape doesnt mean you try the next size up. I have a long oval head and many helmets dont fit me well due to that they are more of an intermediate oval shaped. Ok Done ranting. Not sure if that helps any but a good fitting helmet is more crucial than buying the most expensive in my opinon. Keep in mind when trying them on that it is the tightest its going to be in the showroom and it will loosen up.
  8. My frontier's heads are off right now also!!! You didn't say what year but if it has a knock sensor I would go ahead and replace it with new one. They are known for going out and you have to remove the whole intake to replace it. As far as cams go I'm not sure but would there be a need to retune the ECU? and do you think there would be a decrease in fuel consumption during highway cruising?
  9. I have them... But they are in the car. LOL and I doubt your willing to pay for coil overs in order to get them.
  10. Guys I'm here. Didnt scam anybody. Just never saw the notification that I had a message. When my daughter gets on my tablet and hybridz is open and then she closes the window the red notification doesnt show back up when i get on. The part is sent over a weekago though.
  11. So my uncle, my dad and myself where going through my grandpas garage last weekend as they are getting the house ready for sale as they are in a retirement home now. So we are cleaning and divining up tools and what not and my dad pulls a box down from the rafters filled with old gaskets. Some from his jet boat he built in high school and many from his Z's back in the 70's when he had a new 260 and a few 280's. The gasket that has me curious is an asbestos intake/exhaust gasket with some metal reinforcement on the intake I believe, Maybe it was the exhaust I'm not sure. I know the health concerns related to it and if it was broken down at all I wouldn't consider it at all but its in perfect shape. I've always had issues with exhaust leaks on my turbo manifold with felpro gaskets. I guess my question is would you use it or just toss it because of the material?
  12. Unless your wanting to spend a bunch of money just buy ones from a parts store. They aren't that special. Now if you do alot of valve adjustments like I do and get fed up with fanning out the feeler gauges to find the right size you buy a set like this. They come in a vinyl pouch and each one has its own spot. Much faster. But alot of money to adjust the valves on your L6 every few years. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5XU51-Feeler-Gage-Set-20-PC-/381017937215?hash=item58b670553f:g:HwkAAOSwxp9W2O4Y
  13. I have one. Not sure how shipping would pan out. But we could look into it.
  14. I feel like I remember hearing something about xtd clutches being physically bigger or thicker than lets say an ACT. Anybody else hear anything like that? If so a different clutch could solve the issue.
  15. Amazing Derek. I have shown this build to many engineering friends and they always say ya that's cool but they always came up with a reason it won't work. Well I always said "You don't know Derek". How long till you get to drive it?
  16. You bought the whole Wolf Creek CV kit that uses the 930 CV joints? If so that should be all you need. For you to run the 280zxt shafts you have to either run the 240z stub axles and the 280zxt companion flange, or you can run the 280z stub axle with 27 splines with an adapter. I have a set of the original welded adapters that I believe where designed by Scottie GNZ. Not sure if he made them though. They are the normal 27 spline companion flange that is welded to a machined adapter.
  17. You need the companion flanges from modern motorsports. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/companion-flanges.html The ones at the bottom of the page
  18. Isn't this done yet?? I mean I know I wouldn't be able to sleep until I had the cams and sprockets finished up. ETA on the manifold? On a serious note, do you plan on doing any engine dyno time or are you just going to throw it in your car?
  19. So Suzuki just made your variable valve timing much simpler. No hydraulics or electronics. Im sure a man of your skills can adapt this in just a few min. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2016/january/secrets-of-suzukis-vvt/
  20. I agree with texis300. The lights on the rear of the Z are great. And if I'm honest, even if the lights on the back of the Z did need work, that is a bad attempt and is pretty ugly. Your car obviously but it looks like a huge grill on the front of a car and doesnt work well in the rear.
  21. If you marked your timing gear and the timing chain like I see you did and the chain didn't move on the crankshaft. Assuming the timing was correct when you took it off, the paint marks have to line up. If they don't you have something wrong or your timing chain slipped which is unlikely if you have it wedged.
  22. You are correct. They are on the right side of the transmission. You will have to go under the car.
  23. I'm glad you got it sold. I really wasn't trying to be a dick. I'm sorry if it came across that way. I just hate seeing people throw parts away because they don't get what the deem they are worth. Something is better than nothing is how I see it i guess. I like the stickers. I would buy some if I had seen them 6 years ago when My 260z was my DD
  24. I probably have one. Ill look tonight
