  1. Amazing Derek. I have shown this build to many engineering friends and they always say ya that's cool but they always came up with a reason it won't work. Well I always said "You don't know Derek". How long till you get to drive it?
  2. You bought the whole Wolf Creek CV kit that uses the 930 CV joints? If so that should be all you need. For you to run the 280zxt shafts you have to either run the 240z stub axles and the 280zxt companion flange, or you can run the 280z stub axle with 27 splines with an adapter. I have a set of the original welded adapters that I believe where designed by Scottie GNZ. Not sure if he made them though. They are the normal 27 spline companion flange that is welded to a machined adapter.
  3. You need the companion flanges from modern motorsports. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/companion-flanges.html The ones at the bottom of the page
  4. Isn't this done yet?? I mean I know I wouldn't be able to sleep until I had the cams and sprockets finished up. ETA on the manifold? On a serious note, do you plan on doing any engine dyno time or are you just going to throw it in your car?
  5. So Suzuki just made your variable valve timing much simpler. No hydraulics or electronics. Im sure a man of your skills can adapt this in just a few min. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2016/january/secrets-of-suzukis-vvt/
  6. I agree with texis300. The lights on the rear of the Z are great. And if I'm honest, even if the lights on the back of the Z did need work, that is a bad attempt and is pretty ugly. Your car obviously but it looks like a huge grill on the front of a car and doesnt work well in the rear.
  7. If you marked your timing gear and the timing chain like I see you did and the chain didn't move on the crankshaft. Assuming the timing was correct when you took it off, the paint marks have to line up. If they don't you have something wrong or your timing chain slipped which is unlikely if you have it wedged.
  8. You are correct. They are on the right side of the transmission. You will have to go under the car.
  9. I'm glad you got it sold. I really wasn't trying to be a dick. I'm sorry if it came across that way. I just hate seeing people throw parts away because they don't get what the deem they are worth. Something is better than nothing is how I see it i guess. I like the stickers. I would buy some if I had seen them 6 years ago when My 260z was my DD
  10. I probably have one. Ill look tonight
  11. I have a e88 and 2 p90's message me if interested

  13. Also the reason you cant post in the classifieds is because you have to be a donating member to do so. Donate 20 bucks and you can sell all you want. Pretty sure most car guys dont look on facebook to find car parts. Have you tried craigslist to sell it?
  14. So scrapping it is better than taking an offer that you don't deem "reasonable"? Honestly 1500 is pretty steep for what your selling. You can normally get a whole car for that amount. Realize this stuff is getting harder to find and be nice to someone and give it to them rather than trash it. Its Christmas after all.. I have enjoyed watching your progress and cant wait to see it done.
  15. Been there, Done that, Got the T-shirt. Stick with a stock head gasket. You will be grateful the first time your new and not perfectly tuned turbo setup detonates and pops a head gasket and not a ring land. BTW I have a few broken pistons from exactly this if you need pictorial proof.
  16. Just watched this on Amazon prime. Great movie and there is alot of really cool old Datsuns in it. I hadn't heard of it and thought I would let people know about it. Here is the trailer <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4Szj0gCkFuk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  17. You still looking for a head? I have a p90 with a burnt valve seat in cylinder one. Send me a pm if your interested.
  18. Did you have the flywheel balanced with the pressure plate? My L-series became way smoother once I did that. Not saying that is it but if your engine was fine and then you had your flywheel resurfaced and the vibration showed up. That is where I would start looking.
  19. I did mine a few months ago and used my motorcycle crankshaft puller that I use to install crankshafts into engines. Doesn't work perfectly as the tube doesn't seat perfectly against the control arm and I had to use some square steel stock to space it away and rest on the tube of the control arm squarely. Just thought I would let people know that this tool does work and is available as there isn't a specific tool readily available. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/989/17166/Tusk-Crank-Puller-Installer-Tool
  20. Like I said.. Going off of memory that is 6-7 years old lol. But I did have the problem of having to rev it to 3k. I wonder what I did to fix that or if I ever did. Guess I will find out once i finish my motor swap.
  21. Mine had the same problem if i remember right. The reason was that the sensing wire was not telling the alt. that it needed charging. I think i had to wire a LED in parallel and that made it work correctly. Im going completely off of memory on something I did 7-8 years ago so keep that in mind.
  22. If your talking about the felt that is U shaped that fits in the window frame it is still available through MSA or Blackdragon.
  23. I might have one. Let me look. I received one in a parts lot I bought a few months ago but I'm not sure what it came off of but it at least has the induction tubes. Do you have a picture what it should look like?
