  1. You should have no issues with 15x6, even the factory turbo (snowflake, swastica) wheels with a bit of negative offset will fit just fine.
  2. I would say they are going to be tight. I am running 15x7 zero offset with 225/45/15 tires, stock struts and Eibach springs, and I have about a finger's width to the spring seat.
  3. Borg Warner T5 vs Nissan. Different ratios, different output shaft.
  4. It's only recently that plastic boxes are used, and the frame of the receptacle still has to be grounded. My point was metal boxes are not only ok, but advantageous. It's a given (good design practice) that the circuits inside are protected with fuses or breakers.
  5. I didn't see this mentioned, but when I replaced an oil pump I did not get any pressure until I primed the pump itself. It will not purge air until there is a good amount of oil inside it to seal it enough to draw oil from the pan.
  6. To put it in perspective, consider your house wiring. It's required to to put your switches and outlets in a conductive box for safety, so faults are grounded.
  7. I just tapped my thermostat housing in the location most everyone has placed it. A 3/8" tap is cheap, and recutting the threads in the housing is easy. Do it yourself. I question putting it in the head. I thought the location on the P90 head for the ECCS sensor is dry. Putting a sensor in there designed to be immersed in the coolant may not indicate properly.
  8. Running wider wheels than necessary for the tread width seems like it would perform worse due to the extra weight of the wheel. For a 225 width (I looked at 225/50/15), an 8" wheel is the widest recommended for most tires, presumably because any wider the bead stability gets worse...
  9. I'm nearly speechless, it looks amazing. How did you make the wheelbase 4" longer? I cannot tell by looking at the body.
  10. With your stated goal, stock rods are fine. Maybe some balancing and/or de-stressing, but the stock L28ET bottom end can spin to 7K and meet that power goal.
  11. I had that issue of backfiring on deceleration. I never diagnosed the issue, but when I swapped my ECU with another ECU of the same year the backfiring went away. My thinking at the time was the injector driver had a fault so it was not able to control the injector on-time properly.
  12. So would you rather over-speed the turbos or lean out your engine? I don't know Supras but it sounds like a better solution is to defeat the boost cut in the ECU, and don't mask the boost signal so the ECU can continue to fuel the engine appropriately.
  13. I mounted mine in the manifold where the cold start injector used to be. Should accurately reflect air temperature into the engine there, however there is the possibility of error due to heat soaking in from the manifold. For an N/A setup just about anywhere in the intake should be good.
  14. The way I ran 370cc injectors with my factory Z31 ECU was to install my airflow sensor element in a proportionally larger intake pipe. The Z31 ECU was programmed to operate 265cc injectors, and I used 370cc injectors (40% higher flow), so I installed the airflow element in a tube that had 40% more area, which turned out to be 3.5" ID. I dyno'd 313 rwhp with that setup and a stock L28ET (about 15psi boost).
  15. Toyota trucks have 6 wheel lugs, so no, Toyota rotors are a non-starter.
  16. I installed those calipers and ran them for a while. You don't need anything but the calipers and the pads for the Toyota truck. All the lines are the same. Couldn't be easier.
  17. That's pretty cool. Nice looking car.
  18. It sounds to me like the valves and the lifter pivots are going to be a problem.
  19. This is true, I have a P90A with solid lifters.
  20. Too much money for a mystery motor. You should be able to negotiate to much lower, and if not, walk away.
  21. You will probably save fuel on that swap, not to mention a lot easier hauling. Oh, use rotella 5-40
  22. In the Hemmings article it's fairly clear the WC units use Dextron ATF because of the needle bearings. Non-WC units like the Nissan are spec'd to use gear lube. I use Redline MTL in mine.
  23. Why are your spring seats still on the struts? You will not be able to take advantage of more backspacing/wider wheels.
