NO you don't have to NOT buy gas at all. You can still buy gas and make an impact. you just have to not buy from the largest producer. This wil only work if EVERYONE gets involved. 1, 10,000 or even 100,000 people probably won't affect them, but 200,000,000 will.
-
O.K. I'll make this as simple as I can. NO politics involved, Just the laws of economics. The oil companies have used it for years so here goes. Don't buy gas from EXXON or any of it's other sub divions, Then when they don't have any money going in their bank accounts they HAVE to lower their gas prices to get people to buy their gas again. It's as simple as that!!!!! You can still buy gas at what ever price you want, just don't buy it from EXXON.
-
What political discussions? I was trying to defuse the polictal note in acouple of members comments! Trying to keep it on subject of GAS PRICES! What political about that?

You know what , when people stick ther heads in the sand and pretend that nothing can be done, the big companies have done their job. They've conditioned us into thinking we can't do anything about it. It's too bad, I thought people here would be open to this kind of thinking. After all we're doing things here that most people wouldn't even attempt, as far as automobiles are conserned. It's just a shame.

What happened to the OIL boycott thread?

adjustable cams for wheel geometry
fastzcars replied to zliminator's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
No shafts or adapters to them will change the camber. To get more camber, without buying parts, is to elongate the top 3 holes that hold up the struts. Or you can buy camber/caster strut mounts from betamotorsports or DP products or modern motorsports. http://www.betamotorsports.com/products/index.html http://www.designproductsracing.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=513 http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php. Then you can adjust to your lifes content. Enjoy:icon44: -
Sorry your right about the internal reg for the 280z, I ASSUMED it was a 240. Well here's Autozones webpage for the almost all years Z wiring. What year is your Z?http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1d/1d/80/0900823d801d1d80.jsp.

http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=2126&size=big&cat=&si=wiring. The battery gets it's charge from the starter post. Then there's a fusable link that feeds a large white wiring coming out of the voltage regulator to the starter, that could be bad. What is the voltage right at the output of the alternator's white wire connection? Did you bypass the external regulator? If so how did you wire it? Or it could be the connection at the starter or the connection is corroded internally. How about the battery ground? It's located right under the battery tray on the passenger frame rail and is common to be corroded from the battery acid. The above link will show what I'm talking about.

The only reason I decided to change out the rack was 1. The rack was damaged from the accident. 2. The miata rack was 1.5 inch longer on the driver side than the passenger side, thus the passanger tierod was very short. BUT I didn't feel ANY bumpsteer or any weard steering from the car on the street or even at the MSA autocross . Now mind you I did intend to take my car to some track day events and I didn't want to worry about the bumpsteer Issue so I decided to change the subi rack after I measured it and found that it was the same size as the stock Z rack. Now as far as the comparison of the two rack installs, I feel that the maita rack was a liitle easier to install simply for the fact that the high pressure hose fittings on the maiata are on the top of the rack and don't interfere with the crossmember. I had to really cut out a big section of the crossmember for the subi rack. I should be able to finally drive my car in 2 weeks so I'll be able to tell if all this work was worth it. I hope that answers some of you questions Owen.

Jeeeez...Dodge's New Caliber SRT4...HP like mad!
fastzcars replied to slownrusty's topic in Non Tech Board
Lifegrudude. I was trying to figure out where did I see this car before, and you hit it . I overall size is about the same. It does look better inperson than in pictures. -
davyz, I think it's the angel of the camera. It's centered on the crossmember. I replaced the miata rack I had in there before because the rack was longer on the passenger side than the driver. The Subaru rack is even on both sides. Mark, I haven't checked to see if the bushings deform. If it does, What did you do to correct it? I was thinking of using a muffler clamp and drilling some holes in the crossmember to mount it. As far as the pump is conserned, I'm using a chevy pump, with a ZOOPS bracket. It works great, and it's totally adjustable. I can adjust the pump front to back to get the belt alingment perfect. The u-joint is the stock subu welded to the dastun upper have. I think I cut 3 inchs off the Z's shaft. Although the U-joint is pretty long at about 6 inches total length, Thats why I had to "Clearence" the frame rail. Now I have all kinds of header clearence.
