  1. Haha, that was sarcasm. I've watched that video at least 5 times now. Great job, dude. you have my respect.
  2. Just a heads up. I thought these would be gone within minutes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120134000796&rd=1,1 I'd buy them but I hate the idea of spacers. -Joe
  3. That is amazing. I really like that you kept the stock tails. Where is the BOV?
  4. I hope you got different springs for the front. A few members have tried using the default springs on V8 projects and its put them on the ground. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=94933

  6. I am also just now starting to research cng. I've read from one source that there is a $1000 tax credit for the purchase of the myphill fill station. http://myphill.com/incentives.htm Here in kansas city, our water department is already running some of its trucks on cng.
  7. I must be confused. By run #6 the car was still worse off than the base line in terms of drag and lift. -Joe
  8. I've obtained most of my information from wikipedia, so take this with a grain of salt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_coefficient Some values provided for a 280zx http://www.mayfco.com/nissan.htm Anyway, I needed some perspective. The test mule baseline gave a CdA ft² value of 8.71 putting us in line with some boats! (92 Crown Vic, 91 LeSabre) and by run #18 you had it down to 7.33 (a little better than a 01 Civic).
  9. Thanks for sharing. Some really nice cars there.
  10. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15X7-8-ROTA-RB-WHEELS-4x114-3-04-DATSUN-COROLLA-240Z_W0QQitemZ140116190871QQihZ004QQcategoryZ43955QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This link goes to an ebay auction for staggered 15x7/8 at a pretty good price, but I think I will hold out until I see some 16's.
  11. It's a bad month for me, with calc and chem finals. I'm excited to see how they turn out though.
  12. "Some overhaul shops claim beneficial cooling effects of black paint on their engine. The theory is that black is a better emitter of infrared (heat) energy. A hot engine in a cold surrounding, radiates energy from the hot object to the cold. The amount of radiant cooling is (generally) dependent upon the temperature of the emitter (engine) and how efficient the engine is at radiating energy -- its emissivity. This derives from Kirchoff's Law where good absorbers are also good emitters. Since black is a good absorber of energy (that's why it's black) it's also a good emitter. A black object emits more radiant energy (cools faster) than a white or gold object that emits less radiant energy per unit of time. Painting an engine black increases the amount of radiant energy emitted by the hot engine to its colder surroundings and it will be cooler than a non-black engine. There is a fallacy to the above argument. Most heat energy emitted by the engine is in the invisible infrared portion of the spectrum. What appears to us as black, white, red, or green in the visible spectrum is not what we would see in the infrared spectrum. Any color of paint that uses organic (non-metallic) pigments is black in the infrared spectrum. For example, white paint emits 90-95% depending upon pigment type. Black emits 96%, blue 94%, green 92% and red 91%. The best emissivity surface coating is acetylene soot at 97%. Painting an engine increases radiant cooling but the color of the paint doesn't. " -http://www.sacskyranch.com/paint.htm Makes sense -Joe
  13. I used to work at a paint store were crackheads like that guy would come and steal our pallets. I guess they are worth $5-$10 a piece depending on size and condition. That guys is probably a millionaire. HAHA
  14. Awesome, thanks everybody for the help. I've found several z's in the wrecking yard, all of them had the hardline rusted to the piece that connects it to the flex line, and wound up getting a kink before they would budge. Thanks for all the detail, I really appreciate the part numbers and links. I'll try the DIY method first and if/when I get frustrated I'll probably call classictube. Edit: Any reason not to run copper hardlines? I think this would look pretty cool.
  15. Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen this before. Their selection is even larger than most specialty sites I've seen. Edit: Ebay kills their prices for illuminas.
  16. My clutch hardline was crushed during my swap. I'd really like to replace it with maybe a braided line, but I'm not opposed to hardline. Anybody have an easy solution for this? In the archives somebody mentioned that the autoparts store style bend it yourself 6 foot pipe is almost a perfect fit. I went up to advanced and brought with me my master cylinder and flex line and they didn't have a line with the right size fittings. Anybody happen to know the thread sizes or even better, a place that sells direct fit replacement? -Joe
  17. Awesome truck. My dad drives one. He has to fold the mirrors in to fit it in the garage. -Joe
  18. Awesome find! Do you run a Datsun recovery center or something? When you run out of space send this one my way. How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind my asking. -Joe
  19. Awesome vid, like a mini movie. That car is not street legal, needs wipers.
  20. Orb is useful in the same way if you are using a mobile device, like a cell phone.
  21. Awesome car! Any idea what brand/model seats those are? Is there no cage in that beast? -Joe
  22. Forrest, I just bought some injector connectors from you on Ebay. Great quality and price! Thanks[/thread jack]
  23. I am always seeing people paying more than retail on Ebay.
