  1. Well the T28 won't fit since the stock size is a T3. You can run 10psi on pretty much stock everything with just a manual boost controller and a FMU. the intercooler will help, but I wouldn't run the bov, as it may mess up the stock ecu. Also an electric fan has nothing to do with how much boost you run. You can run the stock clutch fan with a shroud and you should be fine.
  2. Personal horror story about datsun parts LLC. My friend bought a "freshly machined head" from them. Came with part of the gasket and a lot of sludge and dirt still on the mating surface and in the passages. Sunrise Z is the name of the shop in Glandale CA, Art Rinner is the man that runs it, He has an account but it's easier to call. You should just be able to google them.
  3. Those calipers are huge. Sideways, this thread should show you how big they are in comparison to 240sx stuff: http://zilvia.net/f/s-chassis/449103-how-evo-8-9-brembos-240sx.html Fitting the fronts would be crazy. What I want to know is why you desiced to have the caliper at the very top like that? was it just space constraints? Also can you supply pics of the hydro brake and where you T'd it into the rear lines? I'm assuming straight down in the trans tunnel.
  4. That's the ring gear engaging, since there is no fluid its much more audible. Now if that's normal or not I couldn't tell you since I've never had a z31 lsd. Doesn't look like it has a lot of play in it though, and as Plata said, when there's fluid in it, it could be perfectly fine. If it's been sitting without oil in it though, I would at least take the rear cover off and check for rust on the bearing surface areas
  5. Sorry to hear, but at least no one was hurt and the car isn't damaged beyond repair. One day I'll make it out to speed week.
  6. If it's been raced then it is cobbled up. Offer him $1200, remind him its a non running car, and that it probably cannot be registered without a lot of paperwork.
  7. Totally not worth it if you love driving your Z even a little bit. It will be a major pain in the ass to get it registered (at least in Cali, I don't know about AK, FL probably wouldn't care too much) without the title AND missing vin plates.
  8. Get that poster. If the car looks anything like in that poster and is in ok condition, it could be worth more to a collector (but don't expect it to be). Also keep the dealer slip as it is actual evidence for the VIN, heck get it copied and safely store the original.
  9. Well seeing as my friends even came with one, the plate, I feel like there is something wrong. Do you know how it was imported and when? Also depending on the price, the hood and hatch could easily be worth more than you're getting it for.
  10. Do they make smaller versions? such as a 3/4 size wth say 600-700 cca? Also I didn't see the price for the the club discount or msrp.
  11. Bang the crap out of your fenders and pull the hell out of them, run a 195 and -3 degrees of camber (or more) and you'll be good. Or ask PPK
  12. The exhaust pipe is there strictly for style. Its boso or shakotan imitation. Should be higher though. Those wheels are also legit
  13. What John said on the springs. The fronts are larger and the rears are smaller, OD wise. You can not mess them up. The rears are stiffer because the zx needs less squat plus it has a lot of weight back there (20 gal gas tank). The stiffness is probably coming from the shorter shock, assuming you had the same tires on the car before you changed the springs. Why did you use a 300zx shock and not a 280zx shock? and did you have those shocks on with stock springs before you installed the tokicos? Tire construction and sidewall height play a huge role in street driving. A bigger sidewall on a floppier tire will make it more comfortable, but you will get a squishy feeling during turns, which I didn't like.
  14. Dont do Datsun parts LLC. Nissan can still rebuild them I was quoted at 3k for a full motorswap several years ago. As for rebello I'm sure hr can do a basic rebuild. If also ask braap. Possibly a shop that is in Glendale ca (sunrise Z) will do one.
  15. What body is this? s30 or s130? For an s30 you can pull those sizes of with regular flares, for a ZX you can fit that under stock metal. And you should look into better suspension asap. It's going to be too soft and those springs could potentially blow out your shocks.
  16. Spinwerks makes light custom wheels also. Diamond racing won't make anything 9" wide, they go from 8" to 10", don't know why. Xxr makes low offset wheels. A lot of people run those. I would try searching zilvia, because cheap, low offset, wide wheels pop up all the time.
  17. That doesn't look bad. I would double check what vacuum sources you need. I only had 4: Brake booster, PVC (underside), fpr, and dizzy.
  18. I thought those are the ones you generally want. The ones that looks like s13 rear calipers
  19. Stock brakes will go a long way with proper pads and rotors and fluids. I'm fairly competitive with SS lines and hawk pads. The Silvermine kit can be put together for less if you can find the calipers and rotors. The adapter to make the calipers work is what costs money. If you do want to go 5 lug, I believe you can just use the hubs, not too sure since I haven't measured anything out. I didn't feel the need.
  20. Ain't nobody got time for that. Although it would make a great conversation piece.
  21. Very clean, glad he stuck it out with the blow through carbs. That surge tank is the icing on the cake. Also the Tony D call out is pretty funny.
  22. That must have been awkward. Better than a ticket though.
