  1. I seriously miss roads like that. I can't wait to bring my Z back to Socal for a month
  2. If this doens't work, I'd probably suggest going with megasquirt.
  3. That should be fine. As long as you aren't going crazy and just city driving when it's 110* out. A fan shroud does wonders as well.
  4. You should be able to find some members in the area, There are a lot of people in WA on ratsun.net.
  5. There are no bolt in applications, nor any plug and play wiring kits. You need to look at the wiring diagram on whatever headunit you bought and run the wires themselves. As for a mounting plate, you sorta have to make that too. Just use carboard, cut out a faceplate, then get some plywood, abs plastic or aluminum and make it.
  6. I had my uncle do that. Bought a car out in Phoenix, told the guy to meet my uncle. he looked it over (the seller had sent me numerous pictures and videos) and my uncle handed him the cash (I transferred the cash to my uncle through out bank). The car is still sitting at my uncles, god bless his patience. On another occasion when I sold my 260z, the guy had called me and said he was coming to get the car. Well a tow truck driver showed up and he had all the cash. Signed it over to him and it wasn't my problem anymore. As for not getting screwed, you can write up a contract for someone to carry the cash. or find someone you trust to make it easier.
  7. Not sure if you're in the market for coilovers yet, but I saw a set of used Godspeed coilovers for $320 on zilvia. Just put up an add for some cheap coilovers and you'll probably find a set. No use in modifying new ones (for the most part). edit. Also try and use a cut rubber hose or something around the circle where the intake goes through the rad support. If it bounces around a lot it could crack/wear away at it faster than you expect. Happened to me so I just bought another rubber boot.
  8. Is your starter wiring all original? I had the same problem in my 260z and I had to rewire it using a relay. Worked fine after that. Not sure is a 280z would be much different.
  9. doeS it come with a cover? Does he have records of when they did the conversion?
  10. My vote goes to an S2000. It will be the only Honda CAR I am willing to own. S2k's can be found for under $10k but they are beat, generally you can find a private party one going for $12k, but with more milage than you are looking for.
  11. Truly disheartening. My prayers go out to you. This should be linked to the MM thread
  12. Let me know how that turns out. That's the guy I was talking about on CL
  13. Zfever? Or one in Orlando? I know there is a guy on Craigslist all the time posting about 240z-370z shop work.
  14. The fronts look like they clear just fine. The rears won't clear. You couldn't get enough pull on those fenders.
  15. 2 things, what is WOF? I'm guessing its some sort of safety/emission test for the car. Also I can't believe you hitchiked 750km. But I guess it's safer in New Zealand. Europeans do the same thing
  16. So you're using your coupe flywheel (225mm) and you don't know if you have a coupe or 2+2 collar? That could be your problem. But if you used your flywheel and clutch, why didn't you use your collar which is matched to them? I'd take this time to upgrade the clutch and flywheel if you have the money
  17. Rikens are sorta there with the fuzions.....cheap, but they are round and made of rubber
  18. I think I misread that statement. Are you saying you want to recirculate the bov air to the compressor inlet?
  19. Have you tested the injectors? What do the spark plugs look like? How is the ignition coil?
  20. Same thing happened to me. I got them rebuilt by top end performance and as soon as I got them running they would randomly spit fire out the air horns. Never figured out why, and it eventually happened less and less as I got more miles on the engine. I believe I got my carbs for $650 with everything, but after the rebuild, ITG filters, air horns, heat shield, I was at around $1500 also. Triples just look right in the bay of an s30 and the sound is intoxicating
  21. How much did that swap cost you? and why did you choose NA over a turbo?
  22. I mean if you really need coilovers, then I guess these save you money over megans. They are cheap Taiwanese crap. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/88915-coilovers-emusa-vs-megan/ and I don't know where you found good info on them. Zilvia jsut says they are crap and only good for lowering a car.
  23. He had the non adjustable, and this was a few years ago. Maybe the quality improved. As for the synchro. If you know how to tear it apart and put it back together, go for it. They are the same. I would never do that even if I could because the price of a new tranny altogether is relatively cheap. Only problem with a 16x10 is tires. If you can find some 245's then go for it. I think 225 tires look fugly when they are that stretched. What do you need to know about balancing the tires? Just hand them to a tire guy, or if you have access to a machine do them yourself.
  24. A 280Z will never be a 240z. That car has "some" value on the east coast. Again its what you're willing to pay. I paid $5500 for my early 260z 6 years ago. It was well sorted and I really did nothing but paint it for the first few years I had it.
