  1. That could have been around a million times worse had that happened at almost any other part of the course. That really sucks that it happened, but count yourself lucky that you didn't go flying off the hill. Really glad to see you're ok, or as you said it best, about as ok as you can be.
  2. To install a different seat. They probably removed it and put the stock Z seat back in before they sold it to you.
  3. The more expensive one looks more fully enclosed due to the welding they did on the edges. If you have the setup to weld stainless steel, you could probably do it yourself on the cheaper one if you're worried about strength.
  4. Why wouldn't two of the stock gasket work in this situation? One on the front side of the plate, one on the back.
  5. There's new posts every day. So, no.
  6. That's just a 240sx rear caliper. The rear disk is fancier looking than the stock 300zx rear rotor, but seeing as rear stopping power are almost never the S30's problem, I don't see it adding much. It does make sourcing everything much easier if you wanna save time though. Can't fault it for that.
  7. just know that none of those parts are for a 72 240z. But...welding on a 280z front support might be an upgrade...so there's that.
  8. Looks custom. Closest one I could find: https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/240z/front-strut-tower-brace-datsun-240z-260z-280z-0
  9. Very neat! Do you already have the front mount made?
  10. If you're using the 280z crank, why not use the 280z block...and everything. You'd have a 2.8 liter engine without having to touch anything.
  11. That sounds though... Acquire M120. Acquire equal length headers. Cast magic spell to make it all fit in a 240z Win!
  12. You're asking to do a completely custom rear suspension and drivetrain that no ones ever done before, then asking how hard it will be... No one is gonna know, the closest anyone has ever done with that is I believe ONE guy who swapped in the rear suspension out of a C4 Vette. Unfortunately, that whole build thread doesn't exist anymore. It was Turbobuicks.com, but the links to it doesn't work anymore. Good luck though!
  13. MOAR VIDEOS! Congratulations! This gives me a needed kick in the pants to work on mine some more.
  14. People have talked about it swapping out whole subframes since forever. I'm still waiting on someone to find out how difficult a whole Miata subframe swap would be. Double-wishbone suspension all around? Easily mount RX-7 LSD? Yeah I'd be ok with that.
  15. I think you'd be the first. The track width is about 6" more than the S30 though, So you'd probably have to flare the body to account for the extra 3" on each side. I'm more than excited for you to try it though
  16. I think you're first question is, Do you want a naturally aspirated engine, or a turbo engine? After that, you've already figured out which engine you should use. Good luck on the build!
  17. Dark grey. Gunmetal. Whatever you wanna call it. Isn't as boring as straight black, yet will go along with silver and give you more contrast.
  18. Have you tried making a spindle pin puller? Or you could even buy/rent one from Zcardepot https://zcardepot.com/tools/spindle-pin-removal-tool-240z-260z-280z.html
  19. Sell it to some WRX Bro who has no idea what a gear ratio is and just write STI and JDM a hundred times in the ad. You'll get your money back.
  20. I'm gonna second with the amount of work that would need to be done, you'd probably be better off taking a the whole crossmember and front suspension off another car and making that work. Bonus points if you can make it work off a car that uses a commonly swapped engine to add in the engine mounting points.
  21. That just a piece of bent sheet metal you did to mount the brank bias adjuster, or is that a bought bracket?
  22. I'd find out how long you need them, then find out what fitting it is, then order new ones. https://www.summitracing.com/search/product-line/summit-racing-stainless-steel-braided-brake-line-assemblies
  23. I read it as Foo-koo. Not Fah-que. I was way off. as to your original post, it depends on what you want. You can make an L28et pretty powerful, definitely surpassing the RB20's stock power. Also seeing as the value of S30's is going surprisingly high these days, you'd probably be better off in the long run using the L28et because it's a "Datsun motor" as if that matters. The L series will be easier for sure though.
