  1. How does the wheel feel with it installed? Looks clean.
  2. I wouldn't worry too much about that vent hole, there are lots of other vents in that rail, no way it will build up gas pressure. I just recently repaired the same section of frame on my car. I just weld through primer on the backside to prevent flash rust. Later I intend on going back and using one of the zinc phosphate inner frame coatings with a wand.
  3. I ran a T5 on my 350. I am going another direction and I have a bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, starter and a broken T5 I am not going to use. I would be willing to part with pretty cheap. PM me if interested.
  4. What is the fuel tank out of? Any pics of your surge tank and where you mounted it?
  5. Nice work! Goo dloocking car too. Is that insulation product from MSA?
  6. This might be helpful http://www.xenonzcar.com/s30/reference.html
  7. Might want to look into your T56 selection. As far as i know the Corvette T56 is for rear trans-axle only and the conversion is difficult and expensive. You need an F-body T56.
  8. Quick google: http://ronruschman.tripod.com/car.html#car http://www.zdriver.com/forums/fs-240z-260z-280z-280zx-70-83-242/big-block-mopar-280z-sale-440-chrysler-15479/
  9. I would head over to the FAQ section and read everything. Really, it is immensely helpful. Will it fit? The real question is are you committed to making it fit? Do you have the fab skills or ability to farm it out? I think its awesome that you are doing something different. Just be aware that different means figuring things out for yourself, which is not always pretty, at least in my experience. Good luck, keep us posted on the progress.
  10. Hmm... I am nearly certain that is a Suspension Techniques sway bar. Often referred to as a ST rear bar. Heck you can buy a front and rear set over at Summit, order before noon and it's there before you hang up the phone. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/stq-52095/overview/model/240z
  11. That came out bitchen. Did you spray the car yourself?
  12. Wait a sec.... how do you know? What makes you think it is dried out? Been a little while since I looked at a T5 but I believe front he clutch fork hole, the pivot is all the way on the other side of the input shaft. I don't really see any reasonable way to get to it. Much less clean off dried grease and reapply. Maybe someone has a trick.
  13. I have zero personal experience with drysump systems, however it sounds like tying a drain from the heads to the feed would likely introduce air into bubbles into the system. I would be worried about air pockets/cavitation, unless the system has some mechanism to separate air and oil. I would think that a gravity drain to the pan or tank would be safer. Again, I know nothing about nothing, I am interested to see what you come up with.
  14. My advice is don't make a full tube chassis your first build. The beauty of that advice is in the simplicity. For real though. There are some awfully quick stock chassis Z's out there. I would spend the tubing money on a set of baddog frame rails and a set of floor pans. That's me. IDK. Post your progress.
  15. I think i have got a set. They probably need new bushings and ball joints. But if you end up still needing a set of stockers, hit me up.
  16. I can only imagine... Such an amazingly well sorted chassis. I bet it's a blast.
  17. I did something similar and totally regret it. Patching is way more work. If i were to do it again, I would do the whole floor or buy pans and do large sections. If you are going to patch, at least combine smaller, closer patches and do a single large one. Its a lot less work.
  18. Thanks for the reply! I was actually looking into the Schroth SMART harness.... Though part of what I love about the Z is nothing is too smart, its simple and it works. What kind of seats do you run in your Z? I have a set of OMP fixed back buckets that I was going to use, however, I am now sort of leaning toward something more... street car like.
  19. One that slips a lot... If you get an aggressive clutch and some sticky tires to match, your transmissions will live a short life. Mine certainly did not like it very much. If you take the time to do research and post a specific informed question you will probably find the forum much more helpful.
  20. Make one. Try googling bulkhead barb fittings, that should get you close. Of course you are probably going to need a better measurement than "size would be like that on most valve covers"
  21. That think looks like it will move a serious amount of water. I am not so sure about hanging that pump of the lower radiator hose. 2.6 lbs + the weight of the water, bouncing around, seems to be like it should be secured with a bracket. But then again, maybe not.
  22. That is an excellent point regarding swapping in a late model seat belt. The car is certainly not a daily driver, it is also certainly not a "track car". Lost in no mans land...
  23. I am still stuck on this... I just feel that fixed back seats and harnesses are a little over kill for what is realistically a primarily street drive Z. I am considering going for some sort of late model seat, maybe WRX. Thing is, what seat belt setup to use. Anyone have any advice for street seat belts?
