  1. Can somebody, in a nut shell tell me what WoW is. I know it's some sort of on line game but that's about the extent of my knowledge of it. That and this guy I know plays it every waking moment of the day, he is a "trust fund" baby and doesn't work at all. He does have a killer TT350Z that sits in his garage and collects dust (500+RWHP!!!) but that's a whole nuther' story
  2. Mike, Do you post just to up your post count? I see you commenting on everytihng and not really adding beef to the topics. I've been a member here for 7 years, I read mostly and sometimes I post and on rare occasions I have answers for some tech questions. Just seems weird seeing you post all over the place.
  3. Congrats!!! You should have had two the first time around My twin boys just shy of 15 months. Simon on the left Elijah on the right.
  4. Im running pretty close to the same set up no 500hp though (not yet he he) The headers I'm using are the Hooker shorty headers (ceramic coated) and running Accel short header plugs and 90 degree ends on the sprark plug wires. It's close but it fits. If you look at Jegs they show a set of Patriots with d-ports for angle plug headers. If I were you I'd order a set of those finished in raw and test fit them on the TFS heads. I'm thinking about doing the same to see if I can pick up some additional clearace.
  5. I agree with 2003z. Back in high school no a/c, smelly exhaust fumes etc was fine. Today a/c modern conviences such as PW/PDL/PS on and on are mandatory for me. On occasion I have to take one of the boys to the store with me or to the doc, no way that would fly in the Z, ever! My daily driver is an 03 Infiniti G35 sedan with 6speed. Sure used it cost close to $20K but I can hop in it and go to the store or drive cross country with out any issues. I have two Z's not near your 6 but still $$ to build and maintain. I think the "trick" is for a daily driver to keep you interested in a stock or near stock form. The Infiniti has 260hp/tq and the 6speed. Now I'm not going to tear a vette stoplight to stop light but it does keep the pesky Hondas away, and you can run off and leave those big tank SUV's with scoccer mom behind the wheel, talking on the cell phone, who is having a touch of road rage during "that week of the month". But seriously you have to take one approach to the Z car and stick with it. Either use it as a daily driver and build it as such or use it as a hobby and tinker with it here and there. Mine is a hobby. If you choose to daily drive it get all the parts together, max out your credit card if you must, and make the payments to the plastic instead of the dealership. Your choice. Either way you'll have your daily driver car in no time, after all it's just money, right?
  6. Definatly take them with you. I bought bolts twice, good thing Lowes was right around the corner.
  7. I searched, promise I did. Here is my problem (car related topic only ha-ha). 1971 240z (Scarab) early build date 10-70 the rear tires rub the inside lip of fender. Wheels are the 0 offset Pannasports with Dunlop 225-50-16 tires. I’ve tried to gently roll the fender lip but it still makes contact. (may need to be more aggressive?) I know on later model cars Datsun moved the rear end back 35mm. Was this move to the actual mounting points or control arms? Reason I ask is that the rear wheel sits forward in the wheel well which adds to the rubbing issue. If I could swap some later model LCA’s to alleviate the rubbing issue I would do it. So the question is, are the Series 1 rear control arms different from later model control arms? Second possible option (?) Would running a lower profile tire help? I.E. 225-45-16? The entire rear suspension has been rebuilt with poly bushings, new Tokico springs and Illuminas so sag is not the problem. I know the wheels are a bit of an issue as the 0 offset Pannas from MS now have more/less offset eliminating this problem. Final option put the original BBS mesh (one piece 14x6) wheels back on the car (ugh). Thanks, David
  8. Thoughts of "Mad" Mike Taylor come to mind. The first absolute FIRST Z event I ever attended I ran into Mike and was telling him about my 240Z 8. He told me I bastardized the car blah blah blah. I told him my goal with the car was MAX performance and the little I-6 wasn't cutting it. (yes I was drinking BTW) After some arm waving and finger pointing on my part, he kinda came around to the v-8 way of thinking (perhaps it was the alcohol? don't know if he drinks or not, don't remember if he was drinking but I was ha-ha) Fast forward to breakfast where he encountered "spitfire" er Lisa my wife... He began his jeering session about the v-8 car and me. Well being a bit hung over and not wanting to give in I just ignored it, I ignored it. Lisa on the other hand, well lets just say Mike probably doesn't want to have a similar encounter with her again. It was all in great fun though, never saw Mike at another BransonZfest since, hmmm maybe I should send him a picute of the Scarab....

    Kaboom!

Hey Bill good to hear you're getting settled out there. Speaking of Kaboom any Army training going on out there? If ye ole 28ga is becoming mundane and not a challenge pick yourself up a nice rifle with a scope and start pecking at their heads sniper style. Tell Chris we said hi, boys are growing like weeds and doing great! David
  10. I have a feeling this is going to go into the tool shed haha. Some of my favorite reading is in the tool shed section, good for a laugh or two.
  11. Just what the heck is in a trim spa capsule?
  12. No more "trim spa baby". Tragic to die so young.
  13. Could have been a 930 "gray market" car too, if it was an older one. They have the wide A$$ rear ends. Sexy!
  14. I'm going to be doing the same thing with POR 15 hi temp later this week. Looks great!!!
  15. Some consider it historic other do not, I do. Find an original Scarab, complete. ?
  16. Coupe or Sedan (I'm guessing coupe) I've got an 2003.5 sedan with the aero/sport package and six speed. Great cars!!! RWD rocks!!
  17. There is your answer, but the R200 with the LSD (finned) cover won't fit the Z with out either the Arizona Z car bracket or making your own spacer set up here is an excellent write up on how to do this: http://www.magshooterz.com/R200Info.htm
  18. Bill, Good to hear you back!!! Snow and wind and trees and.... oh boy sounds like work to me. All is good here, the boys are getting bigger by the day, PM me your e-mail so I can send some pics your way. Getting the Scarab ready for Branson in May, yeah it'll take me that long with all my new jobs around the house Take care say hi to Chris for us!!! David & Lisa
  19. I throughly understand chemical imbalances and the effect on the mind, but for TWO 10 year olds to "off" themselves, there are issues with in the family that need to be scrutinized by the authorities.
  20. I think the authorities should take a close look at the living conditions/situation of any remaining children in both the families' homes and look for signs of neglect/abuse. They also need to question why a 10 year old has access to a 12ga shot gun:nono:
  21. Way to go!!! Now put the z in the back of your mind and remember it will be there 18 years from now
