  1. I was just checking this out in Nostalgic Speed. The fronts are 235/45R/15 and the rears are 305/45R/15's.
  2. I just stumbled onto this video. Not your average choice for a drift platform. Looks to be doing a damn good job at it though
  3. Beautiful work there Skyline. Epitomizes the coke bottle shape, well done sir!!!
  4. That sucks to hear your still in waiting mode. I am sold on the Saturn/Chevy electric power steering path and there is a discussion in this link with regards to it. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/125428-electric-power-steering-100-1500/
  5. I'm interested in hearing the upgrades that the new shop mentioned to you.
  6. My take on your approach to going wide body here is, if you are after that "Japanese look" stick with ZG flares and add fender mirrors and maybe even a G nose to achieve that look. Since you are considering YZ flares which will accommodate up to 12" wide wheels, I will assume you are after max width tires to go with added power upgrades. In this case the BAMF ZG flare would be in order. Now the YZ kit is a whole other beast that offers maximum width over stock with a consecutive visual flow from front to the widest points and back into the center much like an old glass coke bottle. The advantage, in my eyes, is the widest width on the YZ happens higher up in the flare more towards the belt line of the body, allowing max vertical and horizontal space for wide wheels to move in all planes/axis. I have seen some builds use zg flares and still have to compromise on stretching tires to fit. That could be from soooo many different scenarios though,(wheel width, camber, suspension, lowered,etc..). All this and it looks aggressive but smooth at the same time. I like the ZG flares, but I am more set on the path less taken route of YZ flares mostly for it's visual flow, coke bottle outline, and I am trying to stuff the widest performance summer tires on 10" wide wheels for grip. Ultimately it will be your decision with what works best for your needs, may it be strictly for looks, power requirements or both. Either way you can't go wrong..... Happy flairing !!
  7. Looking forward to this coming together
  8. Finally received the rest of my engine parts, consisting of ARP rod bolts and main studs and OEM Toyota washer plates to complete my order. The only two items left to build the whole engine would be to get forged rods and pistons. Don't think my power goals necessarily demand this as well as my wallet telling me that I can't afford them. I also got my Wilwood custom rear MC4 parking brake caliper mount back from the powder coaters. I had it done in the closest red color to the existing aluminum anodized red brackets from AZC. Not a complete match but it will do. I still have to lightly paint the areas which I had taped off as not to build up the powder coating on them. I also will need to get the MC4 calipers, but in no rush on them for now.
  9. Solid products, solid communication and a solid reputation. I have dealt with John Washington on a few occasions and have been more than happy with the whole purchase experience. I am planning on ordering some rear YZ quarter panels soon which shows my faith in the products as a return customer.
  10. Well today was a good day as almost the last box delivered today brought me so much closer to completing my engine refresh/upgrade. Earlier this month I placed an order with Dusty at MVP Motorsports in Bridgeport, Texas for a set of GSC Power Division S1 269* cams and all new Brian Crower valve train. I contacted about five of the most prominent JZ parts suppliers to ask opinions and preferences for all these parts. It was a great experience dealing with MVP and Dusty in particular as he did not try to sway me to any one brand as some of the other JZ parts suppliers did which I somewhat expected of some of them. It came down to Kelford or GSC and I chose the GSC for the cams. It was nice to buy online without having to pay CA tax and also pickup in person from Brian Crower as they are very close to me, so also saved on no shipping fees. The only thing I'm in need of now are OEM Toyota valve seats and my ARP rod bolts and main studs. I went with BC +1 mm oversize ss valves and single springs with titanium retainers. Going to have the head lightly ported to improve flow. I later called back to MVP and also placed an order for ACL main and rod bearings and thrust washers to round out the bottom end. I still plan on using the stock crank , rods and pistons after having them inspected and cleaned. The other parts I am waiting to pick up are the group buy in from member (Woza01) for rear caliper bracket to accommodate Wilwood MC4 parking brakes calipers, (Which I still need to get). I am having my set of brackets powder coated in the closest shade of red to somewhat match the Arizona Z anodized pieces. Won't get those back until this Friday at the earliest. I also met with Stuart the body and paint guy in regards to my fg front Rocket Bunny bumper and we decided to use the first one sent and I will end up selling the remade second one as opposed to original plan. I have also been coming back to my original idea of fender venting and am still pondering my initial plan to use the Hyundai gills or go with a current BMW X5 inspired single vent closer to the front wheel well. I hate having OCD and bound by details so much all the time. That's about all for now as I still need to finish paying for all this crap and start saving for the next items. Pics of mentioned topics included. The last four are of conceptual ideas for venting, but by no means permanently set to size or placement....
  11. I received my box today as well. I won't be able to assemble for quite awhile, but am pleased to have had the opportunity to get a set. Thank you once again for making this happen, Chris N.....
  12. If you are not familiar with companies catering to the JZ engine, here are a few. Driftmotion, Power House Racing, Real St Performance, Titan Motorsports, Suprastore, MVP Motorsports just to name a few. I have bought parts from most listed with good results and best results from Dusty at MVP Motorsports. As far as bolt on mounts for engine and R154 trans Tech 2 Motorsports has a complete kit with the shifter mod and mod to the shift housing. If you look in parts for sale you will see a Marlin Crawler built R154 with the Tech 2 parts as a kit for sale as we speak, HInt, Hint shameless sales plug.
  13. That car is a product of Shintaro Mizuno of Mizuno Works in Saitama Prefecture. http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/09/street-racer-legend-inside-mizuno-works/ I Agree with the approach of going for a more blended less bulbous vent in the fenders. I originally considered using some gill style vents from a '2003 Hyundai Tiburon , but then decided I would leave the sides vent less. After much thought (OCD in full gear), I have later come back around to the idea of dimple dying the engine bay fender and venting using a '2014 to current model BMW X5 suv as my inspiration. I find this to be one of the nicest and clean examples to date of venting as well as the last gen FD3S RX7 (one of my favorite cars). I have the Subtle Z front fenders which ramp out from the front door to the wheel flare by 1.5" so I think this will work quite well. I plan on building a tunnel out of metal or fiberglass to channel the air at speed out the exterior vents. Not 100% set in stone on size or placement, just a mock up for quick visual thinking. You have to use some imagination here with these pics of my car mocked up with pin-striping. Now I am thinking of thinning the length of top line and tapering it as well as the bottom to fade into the side much like the lines that a current Miata and Tesla uses by their badge and turn signals alike. Pics of all included.... I'm not sure who's car this is here pic with the dimple dyed holes and fantastic reinforcement, but it is nice and an inspiration to me. Last two vented pics are my first idea of venting. Keep in mind my idea was to bevel these into the fender and not have them stick out as they are in the pics.
  14. I'm a patient buyer patiently, hoping to buy a kit.
  15. HRRMMM, This would certainly help with lowered car + 3" exhaust against the hills and speed bumps around here. Interested to see more on it...
  16. The offset of the engine favoring the passenger side from the CX mounts as mentioned, is a major consideration as exhaust manifold, turbo placement and down pipe all would be affected. I think there are few options as it stands for pre made exhaust manifolds that fit within the S30 engine bay space. A few pics of the previous owners (Whom I bought my Tech 2 kit from) car with the cross member in, as well as my complete kit with driveshaft, and lastly more Tech 2 shop car with Engine placement and kit in....
  17. Hello Julia and welcome to your new HybridZ family. Glad to hear you have joined up and we all love pictures/videos here so I encourage you to start a build thread. Please provide some pics of the other cars mentioned as I love both...
  18. Nice to see some progress. What short shifter are you using?
  19. Paid in full. Thank you sir for making these......
  20. The largest and widest one piece Panasport wheels were offered in 16"x7". Had some mint condition ones but rising HP goals and need for more width forced the sale of them.
  21. Tough crowd here! Got to admit though I like the Scooby and Shaggy chia pet though. Like Zoiks Scoob!
  22. I never bought from them as a direct result of their lack of response and general approach to customer service. I inquired with their sales rep Deanna about weights and widths of the Miramar and Riverside models only to never hear back from her after several attempts on my part. Check out this thread starting on page 103, post# 2055 and continued to page 104 post# 2062. Oh well, loss of a sale due to lack of concern and laziness on their part. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/58528-wheel-show-post-your-pics-of-you-wheels/page-103
  23. Hey Spits, Just checking in to see if any progress has occurred with this.
  24. Such a beast of a car! I saw a nod to you and this car in a recent issue of Banzai magazine. Bye the way all your older pictures are broken and can not be seen. I'm curious as to what intake manifold you are using as I am slowly building up a 2JZGTE.
