  1. Atara racing is fairly popular. They only have 15" though I think.
  2. So you only have a passanger side mirror right now?
  3. Mine came with a vented hatch. I have an early 4/70. I'm going to be swapping it out for a FG or CF hatch soon though
  4. The STI diff can handle about 300 ft/lbs of torque, although that's definitely the upper range according to what John C used to say. It's also been proven behind rebello L series all across the US, although how much time they spend racing or dropping the clutch who knows. At that point the axles and stubs would be the weak link. The easiest direct bolt in solution is the R200 longnose LSD.
  5. There's where a mount for the ebrake cable stay bolts to. So you'd perch the ebrake line on that and then run it to the hook. Its like page 580 in this fsm link http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/1989/1989.pdf
  6. There is a subsection for that: http://forums.hybridz.org/forum/97-price-check/ But depending on condition anywhere from scrap to $250ish. More if its actually had work done to it.
  7. Yes they will be stiffer, I hope you're not just buying the parts car for the springs only. If all you want are springs, you could get those alone (unless it is a really good deal on that parts car).
  8. Does this count as a sports car or a grocery getter? either way it much more practical. i can carry multiple L engines now instead of just one. But in all seriousness i would get a Caymen S down the road.
  9. If you're on the DPAN facebook page, David Gonzalez knows them I think, aka hulk machine.
  10. Where did it crack? I'd like to see a picture.
  11. Offset does change with the width of the wheel. For reference this is a 15x7 0 wheel with a 205/50/15. This was with tokico shocks and springs Here are the same wheels with a 195/60 on them. I have sectioned strut coilvoers on in this pic. My friend actually just got a set of 16x8 0 XXR's and they didn't fit with a 225 on them (rubbed his fenders, and he didn't want to roll them) which I though was the general consensus. He had to go down to a 205 width tire. The general rule of thumb is that you need 4.5" of backspace, which on an 8" wide wheel is 0 offset.
  12. There are no difference suspension wise for the 280zx's. The earlier 79-80 had a tiny rear brake while the 81-83 had the same caliper used in 240sx rear brakes. I would be interested in a track oriented setup. I plan on taking my ZX road tracing once I get it back (hopefully within the next month). Shameless plug for my car
  13. While you go inland to LA, you can try staying in Burbank. That's where I'm from and it's right over the hills to Hollywood (10min drive through Barham). If you're going through Santamonica/venice, stay in santa monica. Venice can be a little sketchy in some parts. On you trip down from pismo I would try and cut slightly inland to go to Solvang and Hearst castle if you have the time and flexibility. For the Peterson museum, try and see if they are doing a cars and coffee weekend. They are definitely worth going to.
  14. Would love to see weight comparisons of the hoods also.
  15. Did you get the CV conversion from wolfcreek/futofab also? Any pictures of it? That's my eventual plan for mine.
  16. Those will fit and you should be able to use a 225/50 tire. Is this on stock suspension? are you going to use flares?
  17. I jsut saw this as well on fb. I'm pretty sad about this, but happy I got to meet him on several occasions. He was unbelievably down to earth and humble.
  18. All Diff casing will look the same, you'd need to pull the rear cover off to check. Unless you lucked out and he has an LSD installed before he left it to rot.
  19. It sticks together with The U clamps. Ideally you'd weld t together with vbands or something (actually that would be my preference). Pretty sure it disconnects close to the muffler so you could do anything you want from that point on.
  20. 4 speed is worthless. maybe like $60. The L28 block by itself a few hundred, with accessories and harness like $400 tops. The headers can be sold separate for like $100-250 depending on condition of full system. You will make more parting it all out, but if you wanted to price that all together $500 for a fast sale, $6-700 if you don't mind keeping it for awhile.
  21. I'm in for ground clearance shots as well. Other than that it looks amazing.
  22. I really want to see a picture of this splitter. I want to put a splitter on my ZX.
  23. Post a pic of the fuel line going to your carbs also. So you just have the mechanical pump hooked up directly to the carbs? The benefit would just be that you have cooler fuel circulating, which if you get stuck in traffic much would help. You can trace the hardline back, but it goes to a rubber hose right before the tank, so you just put a cap on that and keep the hardline in place. There are probably some fumes coming from that line now but hardly any. You're best bet would be to try and find a stock fuel rail setup.
