  1. If you made it a separate piece from your current mount, you could just leave it installed on the car when you raise or lower the diff.
  2. I've ordered from ZCarDepot(other parts, not fenders). They've been reliable and quick in my experience.
  3. One of those should have it.

  7. Have you tried Google? http://www.blackdragonauto.com/features/z/zb2.htm
  8. On subsequent episodes, they've mentioned that they don't remember if it was from a Hilux or Hi-Ace. Might be worth checking out what kind of booster comes on that.
  9. The whole purpose of this swap is to do something cheap and readily available. If you use a material that requires heat treating and a specialty welder, you alienate almost the entire target market.
  10. Oh, you want a compressor bracket. I think everyone was confused since you originally said condenser. The Nostalgic AC bracket that you linked was the cheapest option I could find through my searches.
  11. I don't think that was for the masses. If it was, they would have shown how they built it. I think Nik just really wants a motorized flip front, and since this is his ridiculous project he's going to do it exactly like he wants. It would be a shame to spend a couple thousand hours on something and then think, "I wish I had..." every time you look at it.
  12. You might have to update your price after the last 8 years. $2k doesn't get what it used to.
  13. How is the headlight rewire done? I've seen the thread about rewiring the signal lights, but not the headlights.
  14. R1Rs are fantastic. They are the only tire I like better than the Rivals. They're also excellent in the rain, so that might be a good street car option if you like to drive your car in varying conditions. We run 225/45R15 on our MR2. I'd be careful with the Rival S. You add grip compared to the regular Rival but lose longevity.
  15. Yeah, I would guess those were from the initial batch that had issues. We and a ton of other ChumpCar teams have run them with no problems recently.
  16. When did you get your tires? There seemed to be some chunking problems with Rivals when they were first released, but they've been great over the past couple years.
  17. Transmission mount will get mounted to holes drilled in the floor, correct?
  18. https://nostalgicac.com/compressors/compressors/datsun-240z-260z-280z-compressor-upgrade-kit.html I emailed them and they sold me the bracket by itself. It's pricey, but a good option if you don't want to do the fab work.
  19. It's a shame the car he started with was in such rough shape. The work he did actually looked pretty promising.
  20. Are you talking about a flat plate angled upwards, or just a horizontal extending from the back of the car?
  21. You might want to read the rest of the thread. I don't think he's ready for much right now.
  22. I've had the same dream as you for awhile. It's not really a goal at the moment, but more of a "maybe in 10 years" thing. Since these aren't very common I have a hard time finding weight info, but the one source I've found(coincidentally, the last thread you linked) says 222KG. That's hardly more than an L28. When you make the block out of aluminum you tend to save quite a bit of weight. Swap out the enormous intake manifold for ITBs and it might be a wash from the stock balance.
  23. If you'd like to save even more time: http://www.silverminemotors.com/datsun/datsun-240z/power-steering-kit-electric
  24. 225s are just about perfect on a 9 inch wheel. On our racecar we run 225/45R15s on 15x9 wheels and the sidewalls are just a tiny bit in from vertical. They're stretched, but most definitely in the range that they improve grip and not in the "hella low stance" way.
  25. I get all that. I was more wondering how you get it done seemingly pretty cheaply. Is it a flat fee that's lower than I would guess, percentage of car value, friend just throws it on when he has an extra spot on the boat, etc
